Bad feelings toward older sibling...anyone? - Page 2

DDC crashing to take a sneak peak at the future....my biggest fears are in this thread! (DS will be almost 3.5 when our May baby comes).

So the baby has arrived and DS has been driving me absolutely nuts! Climbing all over me while I BF the baby, defiant, and the whining! Gah! It doesn't help that it's been way too cold here to go outside to let him blow off steam, which he so desperately need. If he weren't in preschool during the day, I would have a nervous breakdown by now.

I will not kill them...I will not kill them... I will not kill them...

It has been a very difficult day. You would think with DH home it would be easier, but nope. They are just kicking it into high gear for his benefit. I was finally able to place my grocery order (a week late) after he dragged them off to the bath tub. Thank goodness baby is still sleeping. I know this phase will pass. I just wish I weren't stuck inside with them all while they were going through it, but everything is coated in ice here. they can't even play in the snow. They are predicting a major Nor' Easter beginning on Monday night, possibly lasting through until Wednesday morning. New England mamas, hold on to yer hats!

ugh. *when* does this phase pass?

my hubby is out of town all week and i'm home alone with the baby and the toddler. last night my 2.5 year old woke up crying more times than the new baby. poor guy is not adjusting well. i fear that he really hates this new baby and won't ever learn to share the house with him. doesn't help that i'm not so patient. baby loves the sling...will stay it in all day...but big brother keeps saying "get that baby out of the sling". ugh.

i think i have extra anxiety since i'm an only child and really want these boys to get along (my husband and his sister have a bad relationship and it terrifies me that these guys will be the same). i feel like i have no first hand knowledge of sibling relationships and i feel like i'm already screwing up this transition by yelling and losing my cool so much. meh. any book recommendations on sibling parenting??
This book may help...
