book suggestions for 19 yr old twilight fan?

I got my younger sister to read Twilight and she loved the first three books. She wants more book recommendations but doesn't like many of the books I read so I am not sure what to recommend. What would you guys recommend for a 19 year old Twilight fan? TIA!

What aspect of the Twilight books does she like? The romance? Or the vampire thing? If it's vampire, I really enjoyed the Anne Rice books when I was in college - Interview With The Vampire and all those.

Well... I would suggest she looks into Meyer's recommended "The Hunger Games". While it is nothing like Twilight, it is as much of a page turner.

There is Great and Terrible Beauty trilogy by Bray.
She could try House of the Night series by Cast.
She might also enjoy Southern Vampire Chronicles by Harris. And then I'm all out of ideas

Nothing grabbed my attention like Twilight did (not even the books I'm listing above here), so when you find something - let me know.

She might like The Silver Kiss by Annette Klause. It has romance and Vampires.

she likes the romance with the happy ending. but i think the action plays a part also, not necessarily the vampire thing.

I loved the Gunslinger books by Stephan King!

The Changeover by Margaret Mahy. Teenage male witch helps teenage girl become witch. (Much better than it sounds.)

I second these recommendations. I also recommend:
the Mercy Thompson series by Patrica Briggs (there is also an Alpha and Omega companion series by her that's good, too)
The Hollows series by Kim Harrison
His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
Kitty and the Midnight Hour by Carrie Vaughn (first in a series)
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost (first in a series)
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr (first in a series)
Tithe by Holly Black (first in a trilogy)
the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead

That's all I can think of right now.

I haven't read the Twilight books yet. But I'll second the Patricia Briggs suggestion. (I am eagerly awaiting the next in the Mercy Thompson series and will actually buy it in hardback--gasp!) And I'd add the Otherworld books by Kelley Armstrong.

Harlequin Romances. Really - that's all that Twilight was, just a lot longer, and with vampires. I'm not trying to dis the books - lots of people read Harlequins, and they love them. So if that's what she likes - go for it.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley

This is exactly what I needed! I am almost done with Breaking Dawn and I'm crushed to be finished with these books. Seriously, I have become emotionally attached.

Does that mean there is something wrong with me?

I would also add Impossible by Nancy Werlin - good romance, some fantasy elements. It was a National Book Award Finalist.

Maybe the Wolf Tower, Wolf Queen, etc. series by Tanith Lee?

Wait a minute right there! Did you read all 7? And liked them all? If so, you will be the first person I have ever met who was satisfied with them post-book 7.

Check out fanfiction.net they have over 63,000 Twilight fanfics! http://www.fanfiction.net/book/Twilight/ I'm just starting Breaking Dawn today but I plan on hitting FF when I'm done I already read the half of Book 5 that was done, can't wait for her to finish it

I would highly recommend the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. This is Sci-Fi at it's best!

The Changeover by Margaret Mahy was good.

I liked The Alchemyst by Michael Scott. There's a sequel but I haven't read it (the third one is being released in a few months - there will be 6 books in total).

If she liked the Twilight books she will like Stephenie Meyer's other book "The Host". It's just as much as a page turner as the twilight series, and in the end I liked the characters of this book even more than those in twilight (which is saying a lot b/c I LOVED all the characters in twilight!). It's a little slow for the first few chapters (only about 30 pages or so), but after that it's really good! SM's said she is going to make that into a series too!

I was just coming here to post this--glad someone else did! I'm almost done with it and just love it. Another wonderful book is McKinley's "Beauty." That's one I re-read every couple of years and have since junior high.
