Selective memory or false medical records? will it effect my religious exemption?

DH is up for a kidney transplant so they went through his medical records with us on Monday.

In the records it says he received a flu vaccine in Dec 2005. DH swears he does not remember getting/consenting to a flu vaccine. He honestly can't recall getting the shot. I don't remember him doing it either, generally he refuses it...I can't say 100% it's false medical records, because he very well could have spaced it off...

Well this was after our son was born and after we stopped vaccinating him. Will this hurt our religious exemption? Since DH got the shot so recently?

Thanks!

I would guess no, as long as you don't do anymore. Was it an oral or nasal vaccine instead of injected, maybe?

Seems like, if push ever came to shove, _you_ could be the one with the religious objection, and your DH is respecting that wrt the kids. But I don't think most states even link the vaccine registries to the vaccination exemptions they get, let alone parents medical histories (which I don't think are entered into vaccine registries at all), so it seems like for all practical purposes, you're fine.

eta--this is my best guess, i haven't delved into the gory details of the registries

No. It has nothing to do with your child.

We vaccinated up to a certain age (15 mo. to be exact) and then sort of got him into school with a vaccine record that shows fully vaccinated, then in 2nd grad we changed our mind and sent in a religious exemption. No problem! We even told them in the letter that we had changed our mind. That was 3 yrs. ago.

Don't worry....you might be only 1 parent objecting, or you might convert anytime. There are no stipulations on religious exemptions other than that they be "bona fide"

I figure at the very least, my objection is "bona fide".

And that has a very broad definition. For instance our religion is a 'home religion' and we religiously believe that that crap does not belong in our bodies.

Of course, that's not exactly how we worded the exemption letter.

Thankfully I don't need a letter in Iowa, I printed off the form from the DHS website, all I have to do is have it noterized.

DH swears he doesn't remember getting the vaccine, it wouldn't have been oral or inhaled, he's diabetic...
