I tend to think the bottles say lower doses due to the fact that it's not approved by the FDA (herbs are not)...I've looked the web over and cannot any side effects other than gas/nausea/diahrea. It's a root (like turnups) that are eaten as a food, so it's relatively safe. Buying it bulk it says 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon to start with...you can see by comparison that 1/2 tsp would only be about 2-3 Maca capsules.

That was my thought too...and since I'm heavier, I think I'll increase my dose.

I found a site that gives more clue to the whole tsp-mg conversion bit: http://www.longevityplus.com/store/p...?productid=494
Serving Size: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon
Ingredient Amount Per Serving % Daily Value
Maca (Lepidium meyenii Walp) tuber powder: 1 teaspoon = 3,466 mg *
*Daily Value not established.
HTH! I took 1 tsp this a.m. and I'm thinking of doing another tonight if my stomach's ok.
