Birth Mantras - Page 2

so subbing here...

"Relax my face and just breathe..." I repeated this in my head last time and it got me through three days of contrax every four min. with no sleep.

But, I can't wait to post other ideas around the house in the next few weeks as birth is approaching.

thank you liontigerbear for those reminders to keep out the negative words...You are very very very right, yet I needed to be reminded I think...now I will be much more conscious of the words I choose...

How about...

I will not fear
Fear is the mind killer
I will face my Fear
I will permit it to pass over me and through me
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

anyone recognize that?
coming over from march due date club...

that's Dune.

Maybe a more positive LOTR spin... for a long labor...

A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

I really should have looked into Hypnobabies or at least gathered some mantras. After the ocean visualization stopped being effective, my mantra became "OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!" and that doesn't work so well.

I bought ring bound index cards and wrote one on each. I'll take them with me to birth but just writing them out was helpful.

Also, about the Litany of Fear...it is from Dune by Frank Hurbert and I like it because I love this sci-fi series of books. I agree those words are negative. I think they work for me because of the association with my favorite book, kwim? I just wanted to see if anyone recognized it!
