The government has too much control over our lives already as it is!...:

I found this link to the LEA questionnaire which sheds some light on areas the government are concerned about.

I don't really want to register to add my views on the consultations site....

What evidence are we supposed to be able to provide to prove that our children meet he Every Child Matters aims?

* Be healthy
* Stay safe
* Enjoy and achieve
* Make a positive contribution
* Achieve economic well-being

The mind boggles then quickly jumps to checklists and tick boxes. I want to hide away from the insanity and get on with my life.

ECM scares me. Steve was taught that the aim is for the school to replace the church at the hub of family and societal life- there's some pretty big implications there.

I agree with both of you.
I am failing to be able to fill out that questionaire myself - due to the nature of the questions, the way they are framed, asumptions, etc...

I have to say though...Schools are doing a pretty good job at failing to meet the 'every child matter aims' themselves... In stead of taking some responsiblity, learning from others and past mistakes - it almost seems like the new threat and aim of control is at home educators. It is pretty scary!
