chunei questions

i have a 3 week old & a very active almost-2 year old. my mum wants to get me something for the new babe & since we're mostly set, i'm thinking of indulging in a new baby carrier, even though i don't really need one! mostly i'm currently using a wonderful unpadded sling for the babe, which is working fine except i usually end up using one hand for head support because he doesn't like his head tucked in. i have a home made mei tei (that needs longer straps, actually, so it's set aside for the moment), a wilkinet (http://www.wilkinet.co.uk/BabyCarriers.asp good, but waist straps kind of dig in & i have to keep readjusting to keep tight enough), & a hiking backpack for our toddler. i have a wrap that's too stretchy, but i want something that's faster to put on anyway since i'm chasing after an energetic little boy!

SO, after that summary, i'm thinking of asking for a chunei. i've read through previous posts about them, but i'm wondering if anyone has anything negative to say about them? are they really hot in the summer? i guess that's my main worry at the moment as i'm sweating away in our southern hem. weather! this is the company i had my eye on: http://www.hosausa.com/. it just looks great for really being hands free while also distributing weight evenly. comments?

I love my chunei! I cannot live without it! The hosa ones velcro across your stomach and the http://thekoreanbaby.blogspot.com velcro more across your bust. If you are large busted this maybe a problem for you. I am large busted and found that I need the velcro across my chest rather than my stomach.

Either brand are AWESOME! They are both great quality. They both are awesome to use. I hope you get one! Please if you do and have questions PM me!!! I'm a self proclaimed chunei -a - holic!!!

I love my chunei, too! I have a 4 month old and I just got it, so I can't testify as to how it will be in the summer, but my experience has been that wearing a baby is hot in the summer no matter what. I got the i-pyonghae (sp?) brand sold either on ebay or at thekoreanbaby.com. It is so comfortable and my shoulders never hurt either while I wear it or after. I'd get another in a heartbeat.

yes, you're probably right! i guess i was just wondering if it was any hotter than others, but i think i had that impression by looking at the pics of the denim ones which look thick. (but i was going to get a different material anyway)

i'm not especially large chested (B-C depending on milk flow), so tummu one would prob be okay. would the chest wrap cause blocked ducts at all?

Well, I'm very small, but also really prone to blocked ducts, I get them with just sports bras when I'm nursing, but I haven't had any problems with my chunei. It doesn't really pressure your breasts in any one area that I noticed, its more of an overall firmness, like a vest. Also, another note on the "hotness" of chunei's, I've heard repeatedly that the polyester mesh ones they make are actually hotter than the cotton ones because they don't breathe.

the mesh one is really suitable for the summer, imo.
bwing is "hot" anyway. but since the chunei cover up like a shirt / vest, you can get away with a very light tank top underneath.
