Does anyone watch the new series of Doctor Who? I'm not sure if it airs in the US or if it is only available in Canada and the UK. Anyway, it is my favorite show and I adore David Tennant. Any one else watch?

YEEESSSS!!!!!!!! I am currently catching up with last season on both BBC America and the SciFi network.
I love love LOVE Doctor Who. It's my current favorite. And I have a mad crush on David Tennant. But did you hear there will be a new Doctor in 2010? It's on the official BBC site's homepage.
This change makes me wonder if we'll get closure with the River Song thing.

I do.
My fiance spliced his marriage proposal into a copy of a Doctor Who episode, so it displayed on the TV screen when the episode was over.

YAY!!
I am sooooo with you on the David Tennant crush! Yes, after this season- which will be 4 specials instead of 13 episodes- there will be a new Dr. He is young and relatively unknown. I hope that they will be addressing the Riversong story line but there was no mention of it in the 1st special that aired on Christmas Day. They only have 3 more specials to go but the show is pretty good with wrapping up loose ends and hopefully it won't disappoint. Have you finished watching the last season yet? Did you see the 'doctor's daughter?" I don't want to give anything away if you haven't. But, if you have:
Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
Georgia Moffat- who is the Doctors daughter is rumored to be his next companion. She is also David's girlfriend in real life.
:
I don't know what I'm going to do now that I have no more Doctor to watch until the Easter special. I have started watching Torchwood- which is the spin off with Captain Jack and the London branch of Torchwood. It's like Doctor Who but much more graphic both violently and sexually- which I guess is what you would expect knowing the character of Captain Jack Harkness

lol! I got a sonic screwdriver in my stocking for Christmas. The dalek shirt sounds great!
We're big FF fans, too. I named my firstborn after a Final Fantasy character and we're thinking about giving the next one a similar middle name (due in April).
Back on Doctor Who... I'm kind of disappointed that they've gone through David Tennant so quickly. If they're not careful, they'll run out of regeneration opportunities before the fans are done with the series.
Anybody watch the older series? I love Lalla Ward as Romana... and Tom Baker, of course.

We alsmost named our dd2 Quistis as a middle name
What name did you choose?
I am jealous of your sonic screwdriver--but I know what to put on my b'day list! I just finished watching Genisis of the Daleks with Tom Baker and Sarah Jane which was awesome. I am disappointed that David is leaving but I was disappointed when Christopher left too.

I just recently converted to Dr Who-dom and at nearly 32 years of age am experiencing my second ever genuine actor/character crush. I was SO disappointed to learn he would be leaving now I've just gotten really into it. Need to go rent the previous seasons because the earliest episode I saw was when he first started travelling with Martha Jones. I really want to catch up and savor every raised Tennant eyebrow.

I haven't seen Torchwood but I really want to.
I have seen the daughter episode. That's cool about that character (Jenny, was it?). But she's David's girlfriend so

The new guy does look young. I asked DH if the next Doctor would begin "Doctor Who- The Teen Adventures". I'm more then willing to see where they go with it. I should have known David wouldn't last forever. Again, I am wondering about the whole River Song thing.

My DH and I watch Doctor Who as well. I think David Tenant is pretty dreamy
I'm not too keen on the new doctor, Matt Smith? I don't find him as cute. But I'll have to wait and see, he may surprise me.
I'm also concerned that they are going to run out of regenerations. My DH has been a hardcore fan for years. He has all the old ones on VHS, taped off the tv. I do know that they were showing the older episodes (from the 60s, etc) on BBCKids at 3am on Rogers digital in the summer (Toronto). They may bring them back if you are looking.
They also have a great "movie"/documentary called The Lost Years about the old episodes as well for any of you fans of the older series.

I'm really upset/angry about Tennant leaving. I was annoyed with Eckleston, but nothing like I am about Tennant. Apparently getting used to doctor's leaving is one of the 'joys' of being a fan of this show. H was hoping he'd at least stick around for a season with Moffat as the head writer, but I guess he's worried about being typecast if he stays 'too long' (not sure how 2 seasons is too long, though) Russell T destroyed the ends of so many stories & all of Moffat's have been amazing. I do not like the new guy, but H thinks we should try to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was apparently Moffat's choice.
I wouldn't worry about them running out of regenerations, they'll just mess with the world/story to make it so there can be more if they need to.

When Eckelson left and Tennent appeared, dh and I looked at each other and said "he's so odd looking." Dh asked me if he was attractive and I said "I don't think so." But now I like him better, so I'm not worried about young/odd looking Matt.

I liked the Christmas Invasion with David Tennant- that was really good. He's cute. I haven't seen any newer than that.

Ooh, I watch. I have a friend from NZ who has been recommending it to me for years, so I finally broke down and rented it from Netflix. DH and I really enjoy it. So far we've watched the first two seasons and have started Torchwood.
I keep trying to get my parents to watch it. After all, my mom loved The X-Files, the Twilight Zone, and Star Trek (a few of the shows). It only stands to reason that she'd like Doctor Who too.

I was getting really hooked on Dr. Who but then we moved here and found out we don't get the BBC channel.. I need to call the cable company and see if I can get it.
I really liked watching Torchwood too.
Wow, I can't believe Davit Tennant will be replaced!
I really like him, he's definately dreamy too.

Heads up!
If anyone has SciFi channel there will be a Doctor Who marathon on today from 8am to I believe 4pm. It is episodes with David Tennant and Billie Piper (Rose). One of my favorite episodes will be on- The Girl In The Fireplace.
