what do I need to know?

We have one son circumcised and it's a decision I regret deeply. I am newly pregnant and if it's another boy, I am leaving him intact. I know google is my friend, but I was wondering if anyone could point me to some reliable sites with care, etc of an intact penis. I've seen one once and reading about ballooning, etc makes me realize that I want to be prepared for what "normal" is. Also, if you can impart any knowledge, tips, etc that you've gleaned with experience, that is really appreciated. I know this isn't rocket science, but I was that kid in school who over prepared. Thanks in advance.

Mothering has great articles that basically contain everything you need to know:

Just leave his foreskin alone and protect him from other people messing with it, and he'll be fine!

Congratulations on your baby boy and on your decision to keep him intact! :

Agree on the pp's link to the article "Protect Your Uncircumcised Son" - it's a must-read!

Also here's a link to NOCIRC's pamphlet on Care of Your Young SOn's INtact Penis: http://www.nocirc.org/publish/4pam.pdf

Also an important new article on the problem of premature forcible retraction by ill-informed medical professionals - be prepared!

Congratulations on leaving your second boy intact!! You set a great example for other moms who circed their first son without knowing any better, but are in a position to make a different decision for their second.

Hi Lisa!

Congratulations on your new baby boy! I am so happy to hear that you have educated yourself and decided to leave your son intact! :

This was a pamphlet that used to be distributed by BabyBoy.info but this website no longer exist. Boy's Health Advisory was the owner of this website.

Here is the pamphlet if you are interested. I find it very helpful and decided to have it available for printing.

Good Luck and Congrats again!

1) Never retract (push back on the foreskin) Never allow anyone else to do so.

2)Pretty much everything that might happen and how to deal with it can be found here:
Possible Seperation Issues/Sore/Red/Irritated/Ballooning/Normal Development,etc. http://mothering.com/discussions/sho...d.php?t=764732
