His first diaper blow out.

His poops have all been these little, tiny (LOUD!!!) things. I've been waiting for the blow outs I remember Nolan having constantly, and it finally happened.

I'm totally immature and find the sound of hte explosive poops happening very funny

Evangeline only has one or two poopy diapers a day now. This is much preferred over the 6 or more she was having as recently as 2 weeks ago.

Congrats!!

I haven't had one yet..but do remember them well! Ita, I think the loud noises are hilarious...as are the cute little pucker faces :

they are especially funny when you're somewhere quiet ... such as ... church ... which we haven't been back to since DD1 was about 12 months old, since that was about as long as I could manage with her in tow.

But anyplace where there is quiet seems to encourage babies to make bodily noises - particularly LOUD slirping nursing noises.

OP - We have birthday buddies. We haven't had a blow out yet. I'm wondering if cloth has anything to do with it?

Starfish - Me too. Although what I think is hillarious is the fact that my kids always seem to make fists up by their faces(which get red), grunt, and ball up as everything explodes out. I'm horrible. I know.

I'm sure cloth has lots to do with it! We're using sposies for now, until the boys and I move next weekend. We've been staying with my mom and the washing machine is getting enough extra use as it is! I can't wait to move to CDs. I have an entire stash waiting and I'm beyond sick of spending money on Pampers.

The loudness cracks me up, too. I love it when people who are unfamiliar with BF baby poo hear it and look at me as if to say "Was that YOU??" Oh, and the anger! He gets so darn angry when he has to poo.

We use cloth in the day and tushies gel free sposies at night and while traveling. We have had blow outs in both. Katara has really skinny legs and really runny poo.
I hate opening up the outfit or pulling off the pants and realizing you have an entire outfit full of poo.
She blows out more than my others and has been blowing out off and on since about a week. She only poos about once a day and we get about 2 blow outs a week.

i must have defective babies. non-stop poop. oh - wait, maybe it's an age-thing. Zoe is only 2 weeks old. we only have blow-outs when the diaper doesn't fit, but I've had a lot more with this baby than either of the others.

The loudness is awesome. MAN, this baby poops. Way more than my other two ever did. Basically every diaper has some poop in it. It makes me absolutely crazy when I change her in the middle of the night and 5 minutes later I hear the poopsplosion. I don't mind all night nursing, but I am SO sick of the diaper changing. She's actually gotten a couple of diaper rashes already because she is always freaking pooping.

Oh, and the dramatic faces. The effort and grunting kills me because it's like "dude, you're pooping LIQUID."

hehehe... poopsplosion... I like it!
You know I'd heard plenty about these 'blowouts', but had no idea man... until one day, last week... WOW!! Now I truly understand. I'm so glad that Rowan seems to be slowing down on the poops. He was pooping constantly, it seemed. Now it's been once a day or so, but a very major one once a day... actually I'm kind of afraid as he hasn't gone yet today... anyways, it's a relief to be changing just pee dipes sometimes now!
Oh, and the faces he makes are just awesome! All scrunched up and mad, and then the 'O' mouth, and the fart smiles! Love it!

Every single poop here is an explosion, we CD and not even the best-fitting cover can handle it. He poops every morning like clockwork, and gets mad every evening from gas. I've found its just easier for me to wait until he's done pooping, take him in the shower with me, wash him off and hand him to DH (whom he promptly pees on) and shower myself. I think I'd rather deal with 6 little non blow-out poops a day than 1 huge one, at least then covers would last more than one day.

I should add...I really should have expected this, as an hour or two after he was born he pooped tons of sticky black meconium in his receiving blankets, literally from his toes to his hair. Nice initiation into motherhood!
