Pediarix ?s

Can someone offer some insight into this statement on the CDC site? Is this thimerosol-free or are there clinically insignificant traces? Either it's there or it's not, right?

"Does Pediarix contain thimerosal?

Pediarix does not contain thimerosal as a preservative. Thimerosal is used during the early stages of production, and subsequently removed, leaving only a clinically insignificant trace."

Does that mean the vaccine is safer? Than what, I'm not sure. Trying to educate myself.

*I'm* not particularly comfortable with any amount of it injected in my kids... But I've not found any vaxes I feel are worth the risk at this point.
