Allergies and baby's sleep - Page 2

I just found this thread and I am wondering if this might apply to my DD also. She is 8 mths and has never STTN. She wakes every 30-45 mins until I come to bed with her and then every 2 hours or so. Usually the only way I can get her back to sleep is nursing.
I have already eliminated dairy, wheat and many glutens (but I do eat ALOT of oats), soy, corn, tomato, avocado. Is there anything else I should look into? I was thinking of taking her to the doc next week to see if she might have silent reflux. She sometimes makes this strange gasp in/wheezing noise and has been doing that alot lately. We are just really concerned for her and us!
When she wakes up she doesn't seem to be in major pain but she does kick her legs alot and needs to be nursed. She also has a dry sandpapery areas on her legs still that doesn't seem to go away. When I asked the dr about it 2 mths ago she said it was just dry skin. I guess I always want to know why? I mean, why would a baby have that dry skin? I put lotion on it but it doesn't really go away.
I've been thinking that she just doesn't know how to sleep on her own and can't soothe herself back in between sleep cycles but maybe it's something in my diet?

I would remove oats. They are often cross-contaminated with wheat, and even the oats that are grown and processed separately ("gluten-free oats") sometimes affect people who are gluten intolerant.

Oh, and what about eggs?

I hope you figure this out. My son has had the same kinds of symptoms for 3.5 YEARS and I've been trying to solve them all that time. I'm hopeful that I'm on the right track now, though.

Oats and Eggs will be tough since that is what I eat for breakfast but I think I'll give it a try for a week or so just to see. I've been drinking almond milk and eating almonds and cashews. Maybe it's the nuts also. I guess I'll start with the oats and eggs and see if there is any change. I hope there is, I just don't know what else to do! My DH and I are going nuts and never have anytime together anymore!

keep a food journal, and don't eat the same thing every day.
It takes about 4 days (at least) to get the allergen out of your milk. If you're eating the same thing every day or even every other day, you won't see a lessening of symptoms.
When I got ALL the allergens (and there were a lot) out of DD2's diet, she went from waking up 12-14 times a night to sleeping through the night. Same with DS.

I will go back to my food journal and try again! I thought I had found all of them but maybe not. Her symptoms seem mild now compared to before - no red rashes, irritability, etc. She does have red around her eyes, not blood shot but like red rings on the skin - could this be allergy?

Was your child waking up in pain or just waking up?
