No Poo for Kiddos

Hi. I am really liking no poo. I'm just wondering what everyone does for their kids hair. DS is 3 and HATES getting his hair wet. I usually only wash his hair once a week and sometimes less...mainly because it stresses him out and it's winter so I figure how dirty could it get...now I'm all paranoid about using any kind of shampoo on him....

The last couple times I've washed his hair I basically used diluted conditioner and just put it on at the start of the bath and waited till the end to rinse it off...

Do you mamas use BS and vinegar on the kids too? I'm afraid it would be hard to rinse all the BS out and he'd freak...and I worry that the vinegar might sting his eyes...

any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!

If he hates his hair getting wet/washed, I think BS & vinegar will go terribly, to be honest. But, have you tried letting it go even longer between washes? I have not washed DS's hair at ALL, with anything, in MONTHS - probably 3 months now? More maybe? You totally can't tell. I brush with a soft brush to loosen dead skin. It gets damp in the bath just with playing and that revives his lovely curls. That's it! This may not work for your son - it's probably dependent on hair type, skin, etc...but I am amazed by how well DS's hair does with no washing of any kind. It does not smell bad, it looks good... what more can I say?
(eta: he is also 3yo)

I myself tried no poo for a while and got tired of it, back to the shampoo addiction. I never tried the bs & vinegar, I'll give that a go one of these days. (I just did curly-hair techniques with conditioner and rinsing).
