My son went for his 8 year check up on Tuesday. I know it's not necessary but I've just decided to go ahead and do the well checks.

Anyway, he's had ONE ear infection in his life at 6 yrs of age after much swimming.
He's never had to go to the Dr other than his well checks except for this summer when he hurt his eye.

We found a family Dr that asks at every visit what we're doing about vaxes but does not pressure or bully. I changed to him when my son was 15 months old after we had a big bully Ped that ticked me off.

So, the Dr declares him perfectly healthy. Tells me everything looks good. He's happy with his growth, etc.

Then says, "What are we doing about vaccines?" I said, "Nothing." He says, "Nothing?" I said, "right, nothing."
He said, "but he is out more and around more people. You may want to consider it."

Ok! 8 years of perfect health and being around people and you STILL think he won't be healthy without the vaxes!

Serious question for myself... Did the doc check genitals? I'm having issues w our doc doing this as my children are getting much older and I'm uncomfortable with it.

And what about me? I am older than the hills and well...they got me with 2 vaccines: OPV and small pox. But I have not had any of the ones that are on the market right now. And I never was a wall flower.

I think I'm going to not allow that the next check (at 5). Ds is not shy about being naked, but he also knows his penis is private and others should not touch it. At the last exam he said "that's not right"; I think that I'm satisfied that everything is in the right places and a Dr. does not need to see them again unless there is a problem.

Our kids have never had their genitalia or penis checked out at all.

If they would have had a problem urinating I would have permitted that. Otherwise, I don't see a purpose.

The only time the docs have looked at my boys was at their newborn check up. He checked to see if both Testicles could be located.

Imagine that you're an allopathic doctor. You've administered literally thousands of vaccines to your patients. You're good about reading the trade journals--information given to you by the AAP, the AMA, the CDC. All you've ever heard, from med school on, is that vaccines are the future of medicine.

Are you really going to listen when some parent, some layman, some measly housewife, tells you that vaccines seem dangerous and ineffective? After all, what does she know? Sure, she has her "internet" sources, but how do they measure up to the AMA, the AAP, the CDC, all those research scientists who work for prestigious companies like Merck? Vaccines are the future.

Besides, if you were to accept that vaccines are harmful, you'd have to accept that you've actively harmed a child each and every time you've administered a vaccine. Unthinkable. Impossible. No, the anti-vaccinators are parasites. They've fallen prey to pseudoscience. They're uneducated fools. Vaccines can't hurt babies, because if they did, that would mean that you have unknowingly hurt babies. A lot of babies.

This cognitive dissonance will NEVER, EVER allow doctors to truly, open-mindedly assess the potential dangers of these products. Never, never, never. A perfectly healthy child can completely deteriorate within days of a series of shots that are full of known toxins and the doctor will say, "I have no idea what caused this, but I am sure it was not the shots." If they have no idea what caused it, how in the world do they know for sure what didn't cause it?

Here are two of my favorite quotes regarding doctors' perceptions of vaccines.

To tell you the truth, peainthepod, if a doctor does read all of his professional journals, that doctor knows that there is plenty of discussion about the efficacy and safety of vaccinations. If a doctor had been reading his journals in 1940, he knew that there was discourse about the safety of the P portion of the DPT shot, yet that vaccine was given to children for another 56 years, to 1996, when it was replaced with the acellular shot, and long after the UCLA School of Public Health did a study showing a statistical relationship between the administration of the DPT shot and SIDS in Los Angeles County in the early to mid-1980s.

In the 1970s, after thirty years of practicing medicine and being a dues paying member of the AMA, Dr. Robert Mendelsohn noticed that the very patients he harmed with radium boxes on the thymus glands, DES, vaccinations, thalidamide, and tonsillectomies came back to him with the damage he did and still asked him for advice, said to these very patients,

"Why are you coming back to me? I am the person who injured you in the first place!"

Most doctors who are in practice for any length of time must know this. If a doctor puts a radium box on a child's swollen thymus gland, and they return to the doctor as an adult with thyroid cancer, does the doctor tell that patient the truth, or do they go on to treat the damage that they, the doctor, caused?
