My daughter and I have dry skin and I would suggest first considering what body wash/ soap you bath with. We changed to castile soap after learning that commerical soap is no more than a mild laundry detergent. I really like
Dr. Bronner's soap as you can use it to bath with, clean the house with, and even wash your hair with.
Natural oils are very deep conditioning, but sometimes a bit impractical if the oil is too heavy, may stain your clothes, and leave you feeling greasy on hot days! If your skin is really dry, then try using an oil like grapeseed, coconut, jojoba (thanks to another post), or olive oil at night. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to it as it is antibacterial and antifungal and will help preserve the oil over time.
Your best bet is to go to a natural food store, or
Whole Foods, and buy a natural lotion. I like Whole Foods's brand as they do not use any unneccessary chemicals, is dye-free, smells nice, and only cost three dollars for a large bottle.
Good luck!
