Who else is going back to work? I have to go back next Saturday.

I'm going to miss this!!!

I'm hating the fact that Dante is being replaced with a machine for 2 of our feedings!

Unfortunately we don't have any other options at this time.

No experience with that here, but wanted to send a hug.

That just stinks, mama. I've BTDT. It gets better over time, I promise.

What a precious picture! Thanks so much for sharing it. I think we have that same little outfit!

ooh, I love that picture. So sweet.

I'm going back to work too in a couple weeks. We seem to be in the minority here. I wish I could stay home with my kids, I'm going to see what I can do this year to make that happen. But it seems like a long shot.

For now I work from home, so that obviously makes things a lot easier because I can keep Lucia home with me. But I already feel like I don't give my son enough attention, so I worry that working full time will just make things 10x harder. I'm trying to stay optimistic...

Here's a hug for you mama.

namistenicole, I know, I hate it. I'm torn because I did get sick of staying home with my daughter, but I feel like with 2 kids I'll be able to stay busy. And I would like to do homeschooling when DD gets older.

DH actually makes more per hour than I do, but he's an appliance specialist with HD and that's not really reliable in this economy. I'm in health care and I can't see my job not being needed. I'm currently working 5 8 hour shifts, but I'm keeping my eye out for jobs that have 3 12hour shifts. I mean working an 8 hour, I might as well stay for another 4 and have an extra 2 days off!

Love that sweet picture.

I hear you on being torn on this. I go back next MOnday after being off for ten weeks. I feel conflicted about this. I LOVE my job and like the stimulation it provides. Yet, I am super attached to Evangeline right now. I think I would be a lot more upset if she were going straight to daycare but DH h as the next two months to stay h ome with her now. That makes me feel a lot better.

I'm going back to school part-time for the next three weeks, and full-time after that when the baby goes to day care. I can't wait. Honestly, I really hate being at home.. maybe things would be different if the weather were nicer and I could go outside. I think the stroller is still in the trunk of my car, which DH took to work, so that's not an option today regardless of the cold. I'm sure I'll miss my little girl after a few days without her, but I really need some time alone right now. DH isn't terribly helpful, I'm alone with her all day while he's at work and I'm up for every feeding at night too. It's been a lot for me to deal with.

I hear ya Lauren, I've been there too. I'm glad you found a situation that will work for your family, that's the best thing for everyone. Enjoy your time at school!

I go back tomorrow. I'm excited, but sad.

to everyone.

I went back to work 8 weeks after my first DD was born. It seemed way too soon to go back. This time I'm taking 12 weeks off. I wish it was longer, but that is the max they will hold my job (FMLA). I'll go back the 1st week of march. Sure wish I lived in CA or Canada and could take more time off. Maybe the laws will change by the time our children are grown.

I'm not looking forward to the pump thing. I produced plenty of milk, but became kinda obsessed about how many ounces I made each day. It really is the best gift you can give your child while you are away.
