Difference between yogurt and yogurt with probiotics?

?---is there a difference? as in when you buy yogurt at the store does it have probiotics in it like a yogurt kefir you would buy?

SOOO when I see these recipes online for yogurt and I want to convert them to coonut milk for us--will they have probiotics or do I add them or need a probiotic filled starter? (then I make more yogurt with the last bit of coconut yogurt right?)

also---people that are allergic to dairy do NOT tolerate milk kefir or dairy yogurt right? (I heard somewhere thta the proteins are pre diegested or something like that) THANKS

There are a very few people who will tolerate fermented dairy (kefir, yogourt, etc).
Some brands of yogourt have live probiotic cultures, which is what will "process" your "milk" into yogourt. Other brands of yogourt don't have *live* cultures (though it seems everyone is claiming they do these days).
I haven't made yogourt (yet), so I can't tell you anything more than that.
