the 'I wish I was in labor' thread

I'm 39 weeks and 5 days today. This will be my third child. My due date is 1/27. I wish I was in labor. I have tried a lot of things at home to induce labor, including castor oil, RRL tea, pumping breasts, DTD, jumping, squatting and bearing down, clenching/unclenching stomach muscles for 15-30 secs, and cumin tea(have given up on this one now though). Nothing seems to work.

Just wanted to share...
Please share your similar frustrations with me.

I am due the day after you and I feel your pain.

I have actually calmed down a bit in the past two days. Before, I was becoming so impatient and angry and irritable. I was trying everything I could think of. One time I really thought I was in labor and turned out not to be (although it did make baby descend a whole bunch!). For some reason I'm at peace right now. Just waiting. But I know that in a couple of days I'll be back to trying everything I can and becoming impatient and moody. I literally felt so frustrated!! So I understand where you're coming from.

Hang in there! We'll get there soon.

Me too. My due date isn't until next Saturday (1/31), but I feel so ready to have this baby! I have been having little contractions tonight, but I don't feel like they are promising and I think they will go away as soon as I go to bed. Sigh. My DH keeps reminding me that we could have a baby close to Valentine's Day and it would be ok. : I remind him that he is able to say things like that only because he is not the one who is pregnant. I am trying so hard to be patient, and some days I manage that better than others. Here's labor vibes to all of us!

Thanks for the labor vibes. Got one measly "non-contraction-related" pain today and jumped out of bed unable to go back to sleep. See what I've become nowadays!!!

This exactly except today is my due date and this is my fourth child. I feel like I am going to go CRAZY!!

I've already had my baby, but just wanted to lend my support. Believe me, I totally understand! I was overdue and completely DONE with pregnancy. But my most important lesson of the year was what goes in eventually comes out.

Hang in there ladies!

I'm 41w4d according to my latest due date. I was having contractions all of yesterday, all of last night, and this morning. Then, of course, they stopped. My body has played this cruel game with me wayyyyy too many times. This is the 4th or 5th time it's happened. Contractions were as close together as 3 minutes this morning. ARGH!!!!! So frustrating!

ETA: i tried cumin tea too -- that stuff was nasty, and it gives you the worst burps!

This is my third child. Shouldn't my body be used to this by now and go into labor mode earlier? Well, tomorrow's my due date and I'm still sitting here more comfortable than I want to be in my pregnant body. We had friends over last night. The wife used to be a labor and delivery nurse. She said if you have a toddler then hold him and walk around. And do a lot of squats. Apparently, it helps move things along.
And I also have a teapot of RRL tea that I'm planning on drinking within the next half hour. Then, I'll do the two things mentioned above (I have a toddler who will enjoy the walk with me, I'm sure). Wishing labor vibes towards those who want them.... Will check in later (or maybe I'll get lucky and come back with a birth story!!).
