By professional I mean jobs where you need to go to college for qualifications before you can do that job. Are there any like this which can be done partly from home?

My friend is an editor for a newspaper, and she is going to have a baby this summer. She has worked it out so that she will be able to work from home 2 days a week.

I'm a web designer (as well as preschool teacher - my time is split, lol) and I do my web designing at home. I did go to college for it but its not really required to do it, you know?

Yes, I do research for a local company and do it partly from home. I go into the office most mornings after I drop ds off at school, leave at lunch and work a few hours each afternoon from home. Anyday ds is out of school or sick I work totally from home.

The work I do is mostly internet based, searching for info and putting it into spreadsheets, I also manage about 10 other researchers that work under me ... everything I do can be done totally from home. I it.

I know illustrators, photographers and graphic designers that work from home. Preschool/family day care can be done out of the home. I also know a real estate agent and a lawyer who work from home. My cousin is a freelance writer with a doctorate in English literature and also works from home.

I work as a Project Manager and work full time from home. I worked in an office environment until I had my daughter in October and I worked it out with my company to work from home full time. It is VERY challenging but I wouldn't have it any other way! I do have to go out to client meetings and meetings in our local office occasionally but that is only once a week a the most.

Creative work from home

DH and I are full time pro photographers. Yes, its great when money comes in, but with the current economic situation, creative work like this is one of those things people seem to do without. Who needs pro pics when they can use their expensive camera and take an ok one for free. Sorry, Im just a little bitter right now....:

My sister is an attorney and has at various times in her life worked almost entirely from home.

A friend of mine was telling me she knows someone who is planning to make $30/hour being an online/remote administrative assistant. Well, you don't really need a degree to be an administrative assistant, and I don't know if that's really going to happen, but I guess it's an option.

I'm a software engineer-- I can work from home whenever I want, as long as I don't need to go into the lab. (no kids yet). My DH is a project manager/programmer. He works from home exclusively. My aunt is a CPA and works part of the day from home (after school).

I think anything where you are sitting in front of a computer or telephone most of the day can be done from home.

I'm an editor and I work FT from home. BUT, this would not have been possible had I just got this job. I've been with the company for years and earned it.
