3. title arrived 3 days later to new owners who registered the vehicle
Thanks, I'm glad someone has gone through this process before. However, in PA, we don't have any registration paperwork we can do, except at the auto tags place and they'll only do it once the title is there. May I ask exactly what your bill of sale looked like? Any details would be helpful.

For our truck that we bought from a now-friend (it was through the truck that hubby met him), the bill of sale was just a piece of paper they printed out from friend's computer and both signed. Basically a "I no longer own this vehicle and recognize that you bought it from me for $XXXX." I think we could've gotten it notarized if need be, but I don't think we did. It's buried somewhere in the den. Nothing too fancy.

I'd drop this sale & find another vehicle that does not have a lien on it. You won't be able to use the car until you have the title & who knows if that'll get mailed out in a timely manner. IT sounds like this will be a huge hassle & headache for you to go ahead with.

Yup. It's the same way in IL and AZ.

Says who? I don't have title on my car, but I certainly use it.

We were in the exact same situation, with Chase holding our lien and title. We exchanged car and $ with buyer, Chase sent on the title. Was easy peasy.

would she be able to get insurance on it? It'll still be a hassle for her to get everything going through this many different people.
