Post partum bleeding

How long does this normally last? It's been two weeks and I'm still bleeding a little every day, but only a pantiliner's worth or so. It's not heavy, but I'm just wondering when it usually goes away.

it depends, with DD1 i bled 6+ weeks though very lightly at the end

but she was a very fussy baby so i walked her a lot - i spent many hours a day on my feet walking and bouncing her instead of resting and healing

i bled for about 6 weeks with DS. after the first two weeks, it was very light spotting with an occasional tiny clot. i seem to be on the same track this time.

I bled 7 weeks with my first and 2 weeks with my second. I am just past the 2 week mark with this one and still spotting. Hopefully not much longer though.

I am at 2 weeks today and hadnt spotted for two days. I did my happy dance... then this afternoon, as soon as i decided to brave going without a pad, I felt a warm gush. YAY... more bleeding :

Over 6 weeks w ds..noone told me that the more you do the more you bleed

With dd I'm still bleeding/clotting about one pad a day and im 2 weeks 5 days pp

With DD1 it was all gone at 3 weeks PP, and I think it was just spotting after 2 weeks.

With this one I am 1 week PP and already down to spotting, I think/hope

I drank RRL tea since my first tri so I'm hoping that makes a difference!

Ugh... question about what is going on...

Last week sometime I really thought the bleeding was stopping cause it went away for like a day and was real light before that... then it started spotting again... it was barely existent all this week, went away for two whole days and I thought "yay! it's done!" But then yesterday it came back... with vengenance! like bleeding heavy and is bright red again. what is going on?

JSMa - Most likely you did too much in the last few days, which is causing the return of your bleeding. Remember that even though you feel pretty good, you are still healing.

I'm 3 weeks pp and the same thing keeps happening to me. It's down to almost nothing and then gets heavy again.

I can't remember how long it took with my first -- it was too long ago!

It was more than 8 weeks after my first, but I went back to work as a teacher at 5 weeks PP. With the twins, I had a c/s and it was only about 3 weeks. This time I am at 13 days, and I go from practically nothing in the morning to bright red flow by mid-afternoon. It is a function of my activity level, but what's a mama to do with 3 active older kids in the house. The twins certainly aren't going to put up with me laying around all day anymore.

3 weeks PP here and still experiencing bleeding in the morning. It is dark red and I am wearing a thinner pad these days.

I took my first walk outside today (10 minutes) and it did not bring on any additional bleeding but I do feel a bit swollen down there after 5 mintues (no tearing or ep. during labor).

Ugh.... I'll be 4 weeks pp on Saturday, and I'm still spotting. I still haven't gone outside to walk around the park like I want to - I had to get more stitches today, so I'll bet I bleed more before it gets better

I can't wait to be all healed up, I'm going crazy!

Wow! I'm still bleeding pretty heavily at just about 2 weeks. I'd be delighted for it to change to spotting.

New plan: Quit going up and down the stairs (except once per day.) Stop feeling guilty about asking my DH to do everything! I had major surgery afterall!
Jrsmom - you feel guilty?? WHY??? I don't feel guilty and I didn't have surgery!
I bled for 2 weeks, it stopped, then started back up. I think I'm done, but I do occasionally have spotting, so I keep a pantyliner on at all times.

jr'smom--don't feed bad, though I do understand. I feel guilty asking DH to refill my water or whatever when I'm feeding baby or to do basically anything, and I'm getting so overwhelmed with the two kids that about an hour before he gets home, I totally start blanking out and want to curl into a ball and not move. It can be hard asking for help when you need it. Just remember that you ARE entitled to it and enjoy it while you have it. Because it only seems to last while recovering from birth, then it's back to mom does it all.

5 weeks and I think I'm about done with the annoying spotting.

The "second wave" just started (that a lot of moms mistake for PP AF) for me on week 6 minus one day.
