Hotsling or Peanut Shell?

Looking for a stretchy pouch sling. Does anyone have thoughts on Hotslings or Peanut Shell slings? Thanks in advance.

I hated the Peanut Shell I got for my shower. Its just sat in a drawer forever. DS hated it to. I know a few girls who have had good luck with the Hotslings though. I think they stretch a little. The peanut shell does not.

Good luck!

I used both w/ DD. I used them both interchangebly and they felt the same to me. They both had the same fiber content, so they had the same amount of stretch. The PS did wash up nicer, though. Less fading.

For a stretchy pouch, my favorite is Kangaroo Korner Adjustable pouches. I have winter babies, so I have the fleece one. It's great!

Sizing is really crucial in a fitted pouch. An inch or two one way or the other can make or break the comfort level and ease of use. If you're going to go for a non-adjustable pouch like the Hotsling or Peanut Shell, my vote would be for Hotsling because it has more precise sizing. (And always look at your shoulder-to-hip measurement, not just your shirt or bra size or height/weight. The weight you have on your bottom half isn't really relevant, KWIM?)

An adjustable pouch can help you avoid some of the sizing issues, or you could look at a ring sling -- the learning curve isn't all that much greater than with a pouch.

I've never used a Peanutshell, but I love my Hotsling. I was worried about sizing so I tried a few on at Target.

I did not like the non-stretch PS, but the microfiber one?

Hotsling was ok.

I have 3 Hotslings-love them! I used them for my babe #3 from day 1 until about 18 mos.

I totally agree. Ring slings aren't much more difficult. And if you decide to go with the pouch, I strongly recommend trying it on at the store with a person who knows how to use them and fit them. Their size chart was not at all accurate for me at all. I think that a lot of moms who don't like hotslings actually have the wrong size and don't know it.

another vote for hotsling, I used mine everyday from 2 days - almost 2 years.

Thanks so much for your replies. I used ring slings with my oldest three, but the simplicity of a pouch appeals to me.
