Beco or Ergo?

I have a 22lb. 8 month old and need a back carrier for him now. I like the Beco butterfly II because of the security inside panel but I know more moms who use the ergo and love it. i'm torn. not to mention the beco was recalled last year and as far as I know the ergo has never been. plus i like how you can buy the "attachments" for the ergo. hmmm...it's looking like ergo.

opinions please!

I have used both, and I say go with the ergo. The Becco was nice when the baby was really small, but now it seems to hold him too tight to me, and he seems squished. Also it is like he does not have as much of a "seat". He is WAY more comfortable, and less fussy in the ergo. Maybe if you are a petite mom, the Becco would offer more room for the baby. The waist belt is bigger on the Ergo, but it seems like the arm straps that are also attached to the part that holds the baby's back, need to be longer.

Just my 2cents

I have never tried an Ergo but I do have a Beco and I love it. We used it with DS when we climbed Mt Katahdin this summer. He was around 20 lbs, maybe less. It worked really good and felt very safe because he was snug to our bodies instead of flopping around.
