Hi all- I am excited to be here! I am pregnant with my 4th, and haven't told anyone except dh in real life. I love mdc, and had an account a while back but forgot my password so decided to start over again.

I am not looking forward to telling friends and family. My sister and sil only have one son each, and they are going to think I am crazy for #4! I always wanted a large family, though. My 3 children right now are the bomb, and honestly I don't think adding one more will be that different. Our house is pretty full of toys and kids and laundry already!

I can totally relate to those who feel the 2nd, 3rd or 4th baby don't get the excitement from others. I had that with my 3rd. It made me really sad. Now that he is 18 months, he is the life of the party, and won't let anyone think anything less of him!

Hi Everyone!
I'm Jen, 31, and just found out on Tuesday that we are expecting our 4th around Oct 21st! We only began ttc in dec, although we have been planning to start on this little one for the past year. This happened way sooner than I thought it would!!

I am very excited, but more nervous than I have been with previous pregnancies. Not worried about the pregnancy itself, I've been blessed enough to have fabulous, easy preganancies and births, but more worried about the sanity of this decision! Maybe it is just because I'm getting older and more cautious, or maybe it is just the state of the economy freaking me out, but I am just not a confident as I have been before.

I think the whole idea of telling everyone is bringing me down also. I told my mother who is wonderful and was very excited for us (although I know she has concerns about how hard it will be to raise 4 children, she is so sweet she would never ruin the moment by bringing that up now). I know our families have our best interest in mind and to them planning to have another child seems crazy, too much work, or not financially responsible, or even not good for our other children because they won't get as much attention. Even though they oooh and awww over how wonderful our children are and how well we are raising them, they seem to forget this once the mention of having a fourth comes up.

Grrr, I know this will pass, I just hate that these concerns are taking away from the joy and it doesn't help that I am super emotional right now!

Geez! I promise I am not usually such a downer - sorry! I do feel better after writing that though!

Hi! My name is Alyssa, this will be my second baby (DS is one year old) and third pregnancy, I lost a pregnancy in October 2006. I am planning a midwife attended homebirth and live in Austin, Texas. I am in the process of picking my midwife, interviewing at least 4. I am so excited to be pregnant again, though it wasn't exactly planned, it wasn't prevented either. We went with the flow and the flow gave us a baby!

I can't wait to meet all of you, and there are A LOT! Due October 21stish.

sonomama, I can relate. I too worry about the economy & coming "Hard Times" we hear so much about. And I'm sure there are people out there that think we're crazy for having #5. In fact I asked my mom to share the news with my brother because I just didn't want to hear his response. But you know what I love to do? Surround myself (online at least) with other big family loving folks! Even the Christian ones like Above Rubies. I love the various online forums for moms of many, the many quiverfull blogs... Seriously, after reading all those for a few years now, 5 kids sounds like barely anything. And it's wonderful to be around others who sincerely congratulate each other on any & every # of baby. Once you spend a lot of time in those places also, it becomes easier to truly know that your baby is a blessing, no matter what other people say. Or at least that's been my experience.

Anyway, perhaps you already frequent all those places, if so than just ignore me.

Still in shock!

Well, here we are -- never thought I'd be pregnant, but here I am (first time, age 30)! We are excited and thrilled, but i have come a long way -- lots of worry and anxiety before we decided to start trying, but I know this was the right choice. Always had thought we'd adopt instead! Surprisingly and thankfully only took 3 months of TTC. My EDD is Oct 10. my head is still spinning... ! It is strange to feel like "nothing" has changed but I know really everything has changed! looking forward to staying in touch with people who've been there before...

just came home from a 3wk vacation, and i came back with quite the souvenir!
dh and i were going to start trying for #2 next month, so a bit of a surprise but not too much of one.

am not liking the nausea...just like the last time!

I say phooey on luke-warm reactions. If it your third, fourth, or more be happy and proud to bring another loved and cared-for life into the world! DH and I are preg with our first, but we dream about having another, and possibly a third. It's a personal preference. I'll just try to teach my children to take care of the planet so that they can grow up and have a positive, instead of a negative, influence on the world and the environment. That way I can justify raising the population growth rate. I want to outnumber the people who don't care about the environment!

Dr Sears in "The Successful Child Book" says that his wifes reaction when people would scoff at her having so many children was to say, "The world NEEDS my children!" I love that. All you mommies are obviously so invested in your children, making sure they grow up loving, well rounded and attached adults. The world needs more children just like the ones you are growing. Good for all of you!!!

Hi, I'm Julie, sahm to Paul and wife of Chip. Paul is 23 months old, and still nursing a LOT. I'm a little nervous about what will happen to his nursing, as I don't think he'll understand if my milk dries up. But other than that, we are super happy to be expecting again. We had been trying for several months.

Lets see, a little about us. We live in the middle of nowhere Missouri with 2 dogs and 13 cats. My husband is a 911 operator for our county.

I'm due Oct. 27, though we'll say late fall, as I don't like a number to stick to, plus, I went way over with Paul, and kind of expect the same with this one . Our plan is for a homebirth, I'm looking forward to not having to fight with people while in such a stressed situation.

Look forward to getting to know you all over the course of the next several months.

Hi, I just got the positive results this morning, so we're still a bit dizzy with the news.

This is my FOURTH time going down this path and I'm really excited. I've been really blessed with 3 easy pregnancy and had fairly good births so hoping this trend continues. My dd was a last-minute planned UC, not sure if we'll be planning another UC or be hiring a HB midwife this time around.

So I think I can finally join without jinxing anything...
I'm pregnant with our second child, though this is my 4th pregnancy. We lost two before my son. I think that's part of why I chose not to test, and just let it gradually be revealed that I am pregnant - somehow it made for less anxiety because there was never a moment, just a growing sense. My estimated due date is October 19th. I'm excited for a fall baby - my son is a spring baby, and it was wonderful to hunker down in the house for a babymoon, waiting for it to get warm. With this one, we'll have a few months for a baby moon. We are planning to give birth at the local birth center, where I gave birth to my son. After all of my fears the first time, I'm really excited to give birth again! I just made my first prenatal appointment today, and I've already started making lists.
