Abrupt end to nursing?

Hello,
My LO is 13 months and I still breastfeed many times per day. However, she just recently got a bug (her first fever for 2 days, and a sore throat from drainage), and has been refusing the breast. She almost gags at it....just as I put it toward her mouth. I am chalking it up to the sore throat and maybe teething on top of it all.

She nursed a couple of times last night, and is still recovering from her bug....so I am hopeful that it will go back to normal nursing soon. If not, is it possible she has just all of a sudden started to wean herself? It will be emotional for me, but if it's her choice, what can I do?

I guess there are a lot of changes that would have to be made too - It works out that she nurses to sleep for both bedtime and her big nap....maybe that's something else I am nervous about. I can adjust. Just not eager to stop nursing just yet.

Anyone experience this kind of thing?

Thanks.

That's a nursing strike, which can lead to weaning, but doesn't have to.
