series to work out by?

I am looking for recommendations: I need a fast-paced, addictive tv series that is a available on DVD to ride my life-cycle with. Otherwise indoor bike riding is hell. With tv, it feels like an indulgance.

I have watched all of 24 and Alias but am now done.

This series need not be politically correct (see above) and can be completely absurd (again, see above).

I've seen no other series except West Wing and bits of Lost and Weeds (neither of which I liked).

Any suggestions?

PS I don't like cops/legal shows

Comedy would be okay abut it would have to be FAST.

TIA

Sex and The City.

Definitely Sex and the City.

Alias has been my favorite workout show so far but some other good ones have been Buffy and Smallville.

I *just* started Torchwood a couple of days ago and I'm thinking it will be a great workout show. But I'm only a couple of eps in, so I can't be positive on that one at all.

You could try Battle Star Galactica. Watching that show is exhausting.

When I used to work out (longer ago than I want to admit I found ER reruns to be awesome for this. Very fast paced and George Clooney to boot!

I was totally going to say 24 but I see you already watched those.

We are watching Bones right now, I really like it. Not sure if it is super fast pace, but would work to make the time go faster.

We (still) really like MASH to exercize to.

I like West Wing

House

I love Showtime series- Tudors, Californication, Dexter...

I've been watching early episodes of 90210 I don't know if it is fast paced enough but it is addictive!

How bout some oldies but goodies like Dukes of Hazard, or Knight Rider or A-Team? The theme music alone on these would be awesome to work out to

Dexter? I don't know if it's fastpaced enough, though.

I second battlestar galactica. All those military personnel and fighter pilots are buff and tough, and I watch it while working out at home. It's inspiring (and addictive). I want to be tough like Starbuck.

Scrubs would be another one, if you do like the absurd.

Thanks everyone. These suggestions are just great. I've just put in requests at the library for three of these series. 1)ER--I've never seen a single epsiode so this should be fun. 2)the Tudors--I had no idea there was a vampy campy series on Henry VIII. I love this period in history so, again, lots of fun. I'm 9th in line for it so it'll take a while to get to me. And 3)Battlestar Gallactica--because insanely buff people in funny outfits can only serve to inspire....

So thank you.

Now I just need someone to explain to me why these horribly violent series appeal to this lefty, gentle-hearted mom...

It's the mama bear in you!

Hey, when you get the first year of Battlestar Galactica, make sure you start out with the miniseries. That is a two part, four hour (I think) introduction to the storyline. It really sets the stage. I think the first season should have it in there; but you might want to double check.

One thing I like about Battlestar is that women and men are in equal positions in the military. There's one episode where they have a kind of unofficial/underground boxing tourney to blow off steam, and Starbuck (a gal) and Apollo (a guy) really go at it. All the gals in the show are TOUGH. It's cool.

This is why I haven't watched it yet. Because I can NOT figure out how to get it through netflix. I can't figure out if the mini series is part of the first season or not and if not, I don't think its there, etc. *sigh*

I have watched it through netflix--so I think that maybe it *is* part of the first season.
