Do I need to wash my new Moby?

My sister gave me a brand new NAVY BLUE Moby Wrap for Christmas. I'm wondering if I should wash it in the washing machine before the new lo comes? Will the color bleed? Anything else I should know about it? (I had used my Maya Wrap and Baby Bjorn with ds1. The MW really bothered my shoulder once he was bigger, and now I know better than to use the Bjorn )

I'm so excited to use the Moby!!!!

TIA!!

Personally, I like to wash first. I like washing my carriers, especially the first time, on their own.

I loved my Moby! Hope you enjoy yours too.

I plan on washing mine before I first use it. I spend 30 minutes last night practicing putting it on with a stuffed animal.. I'm so excited, but I need to practice more!

Be careful! I LOVE my Moby and never washed it until recently (after 5 months of use) and stupid me, I dried it! I dried it on medium heat and took it out a bit damp but it totally shrunk I can still wear it, luckily I'm small, but just don't dry it AT ALL. Enjoy, the Moby is AWESOME.

I've had good luck drying my Moby Wrap....I've never found that it shrunk horribly or anything. It's a lot like a t-shirt, it shrinks up but stretches out again with use IME.

I'd put a color-catcher in with it and wash it on cold the first time, as IME darker colors seem to release more dye.
