Over-lanolized wool - what to do?

If wool is over lanolized to the point that it is not absorbant at all (like, if you were to put water on it then it would just bead up and roll off) then what can be done to fix this problem?

It will wear off. If it bugs you, just wash it again in baby shampoo.

Well, it does bug me. Its actually my wool nursing pads. I know this is the diapering forum but it was suggested I ask here since you all know so much about wool. So it does bug me b/c it makes my wool pads completely ineffective.

That would indeed be fairly annoying...
A couple shampoo washes should take care of it .

Or I've also heard of Ivory bar soap working fairly well...

Then I can just relanolize them with a little bit of the lanolizing soap, right?

I think so.
Disclaimer: Although I know what to do with a soaker, I don't use wool nursing pads.

Dish soap works well too - it is designed to cut the grease.
