I lost mine this morning, and it was also bloody.(sorry, TMI!) This was after having my membranes stripped yesterday to avoid a medical induction. My question is, is this a indcator of that labor will start soon...or just wishful thinking on my part, lol. I have never lost my plug before.

I lost my mucous plug after I went into labor, and it continued to come out until I was almost fully dilated. There was a lot of it, and it was really gross and bloody.

The day before I went into labor, I lost clear, thick mucus. The next day I had bloody show for several hours while I was in labor.

Question about stripping membranes though - does it entail removing or disturbing the mucus plug? Could it have caused what your seeing?

Gilli, my sister got her membranes swept/stripped and she had similar discharge for a day or two. A week later, her doc did the same procedure again. Again, she had cramping and bloody discharge. However, within 48 hours, she went into labor. The procedure works if you're ready to go into labor, otherwise, the mucus plug regenerates/builds back up, I've heard.
I got my membranes swept two days back. I had no bleeding, nothing.... The doc said in the procedure they separate the cervix from the water bag. This supposedly causes prostaglandins to get released, which can stimulate labor.

I have been losing more of mine as the day went on, on the contractions got me out of bed this morning. It would be something if I had the baby on their EDD! BTW Bamamamaof3, Emma Grace is the girls name we picked if we have a girl! Still have no boy's name...lol!

Not in your DDC, but my bradley book says this is NOT an indication of how soon labor will start. It's certainly a step in the right direction, but no timetable can be determined.

I had my membranes stripped and had lots of discharge like that the next day or so. Didn't go into labor until five days later.
