..and has been since 1/22, but I don't have the internet, so posting this a little late!
I lost my mucous plug on 1/20. I went to the dr on 1/21 and she couldn't feel his head in the manual exam--why? Because it was his foot! Yes ladies, he was footling breech! And judging from the sensations I'd been feeling throughout pregnancy, had been for some time (probably since September). I hadn't had an u/s since 20 weeks so we had no idea he needed to turn. The dr didn't want to do an external turn because she was afraid my scar might rupture. So she gave me 2 1/2 days to try to turn the baby.
I went home right away and then doubled back to town and went to the pool w/ ds1 where I did headstands fully submurged in the water as many times as I could. Then we went home and I started doing breech tilts. I did about 3 of these for 15ish minutes each while doing visualization and talking to the baby. And then around 11pm that night I went into labor, big time, contractions 3-5 min apart.
I had to drive to the hospital and the babysitter's, however, because dp had been splitting wood all day and then drank beers when dark hit (around 4p) w/ his buddy. So he was in no condition whatsoever to drive.
How was he supposed to know? Yk?
Got to the hospital, had an u/s, baby was still breech. Contracting like crazy. Tired as heck. Had a c/s, but ok with that--dr said my scar tissue from the first one was nearly gone so if I want another baby it would be a go (I do, dp doesn't, but that's another barrel of monkeys). Ds2 was 8lb 14oz, 21 in. long. Didn't breathe for the first few seconds out but I didn't notice because the spinal made me alternate between dry retching and nearly passing out from exhaustion (well, that was from not having slept since 7am the previous morning). Didn't fall asleep afterwards so Tucker came to the recovery room with us where he nursed right away and promptly passed out.
Don't have baby blues. Am totally in love with my new baby.
