So according to my calculations..........

Ok, well today I got my first blood test for the purpose of finding out what my levels are because I am terrified I will have another MC. No matter what the results today, I know it is the blood work on monday that will tell me I am ok thus far.

So it is torture to be waiting by my phone all day long to get these results. I guess they aren't going to call until the end of the day.

In the mean time I have decided to do a little calculating to not only pass the time but give myself a "safe" number. A number that if my levels have reached then I will allow myself to relax and stop being so worried.

So according to my calculations I got a very clear bfp at 9 DPO. I got one on 8 DPO but it was so light I don't think I should count it. I used an equate which claims to detect pregnancy hormone at 25 mIU/Ml. And it is said that hgc takes about two days to enter the urine. So if I go back 2 days from my bfp then my levels should have been about or around as follows.

9DPO 50 mIU/Ml
11DPO 100 mIU/Ml
13DPO 200 mIU/Ml

Today I am 12DPO so if they call and tell me I am at least at 150 mIU/Ml then I will consider myself to be SAFE!!!!!!!! For now anyways.

I am so nervous and anxious. I just hope they call soon. This really is driving me mad.

a lot of those tests pick up results even lower than 25. I took an FRER on the day of my beta, got a positive and my beta was 20. The day before I think I had a very very very light line.

www.betabase.info has great info on beta numbers.

Levels are at 120.6

Not into my safe zone. I know technically it is an ok number but for some reason I don't feel safe with it at all.

Please try not to worry!! You really can't go by when you got your first BFP to figure out what you expect your levels to be. It just won't work. The 2 days is just an estimate, and as PP said, many of those early result tests can actually detect super low levels. Your number is much higher than average for 12 DPO!!

That number sounds really good actually! I got a BFP at 3w5d and went in and my levels were 14... I also used the equate brand that say that they start at 25 so mine picked it up much earlier. My levels were up to 130.6 at 4w2d and were considered to be good. I am going back in on Tuesday to make sure they are continuing to go up.

I think your number is a good number. Do you have a time set up for a second draw in a couple days?

Well since it is thursday I have to wait until monday. Which I really don't mind. I read on some site it should be something like 400 sumthing and that is what worried me. But since I have found several sights that say that is a good start. I even found one that said at 12DPO a majority of the women on their site that reported levels for 12DPO were at something like upper 30's. That made me feel really fantastic. Plus my doctor called (I had spoken to his nurse earlier) and it was the same doc who told me with only one beta being drawn that I pretty much had low chances. I was probably 10DPO and my betas were at 18. MCed a few days later. When he called this time he was sounding really confident and excited and telling me no drinking or smoking, no cats, take it easy, and his overall demeaner was just so nice and supportive. That made me feel so much better. And of course all the ladies from TTC and from here as well are giving me a really good feeling.

I think I can officially stop worrying. I think things are going to be just fine.

I'm just lurking here but thought I would jump in with some reassurance here because your fear just jumps through my monitor

The level in your urine is so variable..what is in your urine is just waste. Some people have a lot of waste and the levels in the blood are low compared to what's in the urine..the ratios can vary so much because of metabolism of individual women.

That is a perfectly fine number for blood serum levels this early in pregnancy. Don't compare the urine tests to the blood tests..they run on a completely different type of measurement. So that 150 that you came up with..completely unscientific and likely completely wrong.

Hopefully by Monday you'll have some confirmation that things are going along perfectly fine.

my equate pregnancy test picked up my HCG hormone @ the tiny level of 12 (i took a blood test the same day & that's what it was)

i was 11dpo.

then i shot up to 187, a few days later, at 15dpo.

it's seriously not the number. it's how fast it's doubling. all this is a lot of unnecessary worry... your #'s sounded good to me!

hoolllldddd on a minute!

i didn't realize that there were pregnancy tests out there that gave you numbers rather than just the pregnant/not pregnant thing. i might have to go shopping after work!

There aren't any over the counter tests that will give you a number. To my knowledge, you can only get this at a doctor's office (or midwife or nurse practioner) who in turn gets the results from a lab. It's called a quantitative hcg blood test. I'm sure these people got there positive test with an over the counter test, went to the doctor and got there blood test that day. That's how they would be able to say that they got a positive with a hcg of 15...etc.

The Dr. just called with by HcG results..the numbers are great! I got my blood drawn yesterday at 14 dpo and he said they were 230-something (I think he said 233, cant remember, I was a little nervous ). I looked on the Beta base and for 14 days thats good. Yay!!!

Catubodua: did you get your call yet?
