Yes, they are two different shows. Time Warp is a really cool show from Discovery (I think), where two guys use special cameras to film things happening in super slow speed. So, they'll throw a water balloon at someone's face and show it in super slow speed. It's fascinating to watch what they do. Time Warp Trio is an animated show on Discovery Kids (I think) based on the children's novels by the same name. It's about 6 kids (though only 3 at one time - hence the trio) warp through time to different historical events; there is usually some big drama associated (usually when them losing the special book that allows them to warp, and usually also having to do with them somehow becoming involved with whatever trouble is brewing). My boys love watching both shows, though they are very different.

My boys (9 and 10) love Man vs. Wild.

My 7-year-old loves MonsterQuest (which is basically people tracking legendary creatures like Bigfoot, vampires, chupacabras, etc.), but it might be a little on the scary side for kids who have no exposure to that sort of thing.

My boys are 8 & 10 and they like Top Chef and Project Runway. As well as the ones you have mentioned. We used to watcher Meerkat Manor, though I don't know if that is still on they do have DVDs and our library has them so yours might as well
