Just something from the letters section of the local paper

Nothing like a bit of empty-headed towing the party line to make me choke on my morning coffee...written by an RN of course, in defense of Offit...

Some illnesses have become so uncommon, in fact, that misinformed parents can afford to take the chance that their children will not get sick if they remain unimmunized...A fever after a shot could lower the brain's threshold for a first seizure -- a seizure which would have occurred eventually anyway, but the anguished parent needs something tangible to blame.

Sigh.......:

I hate, hate, hate it when others accuse me of using the "herd" mentality as my reason for not vaxing. Do they really think that is the only reason we would choose not to vax??

Oh, and I also can NOT stand the word "immunization". Can't stand it. I call it "vaccination" because a shot in your arm does not necessarily give you 'immunity' to anything. Lord knows that there have NEVER been cases of kids contracting anything they have been "immunized" for.

What!!!

This kind of rationalization probably helps this nurse sleep better at night, but it doesn't help the little baby who has seizures after vaccination. Talk about a God complex. I guess playing the role of God, she knows who will and will not develop a seizure disorder.

This nurse will never know how bizarre her reality has become. Why not bomb a city of innocent people? They would have died eventually anyway.

Vaccines are not the problem; misinformation and refusal to accept the randomness of a devastating brain malformation are the problems.
....... I don't know how to respond to this. How utterly arrogant.
