Curious---what are your birth plans?

I like seeing what everyone has planned!

This will be our third homebirth, second waterbirth. We'll be using the second and third-in-command midwives from our last birth (the main m/w has moved) and I am really excited about that! I love them both dearly, they are amazing. We'll be in a new house by then, so that will be such a relief! I caught dd2, as she kind of popped out unexpectedly, but this time I want dh to catch the baby.

What are your plans?

We're planning on a second homebirth.

A home waterbirth with a midwife who posts here on MDC (hi defenestrator!), I hope! I am going to be making lots of plans, you bet.

my son was born at the hospital, a lovely natural birth with a wonderful, supportive staff and our own doula. planning the same for this birth, though we now live farther from said hospital... im going to talk to my OB about whether or not its crazy to plan to birth there now that we live farther away. i dont want to try a new, closer hospital unless i have to because we had such a good experience the first time.

This is my second child. My daughter was born at a hospital with an OB. It was not terrible, but not what I wanted and the nurse was NOT a pleasant woman.

This time, I hope to have a homebirth with a midwife. I want my daughter and husband to be very involved. Actually I was talking about that to my daughter (almost 3.5) and she was getting mad when I said "it will be you, daddy, and a midwife!" because she didn't like the idea of the midwife

I'm really excited because I feel like I know so much more this time around. I'm also glad because my mom was totally against the idea of a homebirth, but the other day she talked to her doctor about it and her doctor said she has even attended some homebirths and it's totally fine, she was even talking up midwives! My mom called me and told me all about it and this seems to have turned her around to the idea!

Anyways, we may be moving in a couple months, so I'm not totally sure who I'm using, but I'm researching and using MDC as a resource

I plan on hospital birth with OB, which is same as last time except this time with doula and no pain meds. I would go with MW but there is only one choice and I happen to like the OB at the practice WAY more than the MW. I had a very positive experience at this hospital with my last birth. It is a tiny, fairly progressive hospital and is only 5 miles from my house. The birthing suites are private with their own bath, hardwood floors, set up to look like bedrooms etc.

I think with a midwife at a birth center. I would really love a homebirth, but we are in an apartment and dh is only okay with homebirthing in a house.

I am planning a hospital birth with my same doctor that delivered all 3 of my kids. I go to a tiny rural hospital and have had pretty much nothing but a wonderful experience, I have a really good relationship with my doctor and I am looking forwars to it!

My first birth was at the Farm, with a breech. We'd planned to have him at a birth center, but they have insurance rules and had to drop us at the very end of the pregnancy!

This time, I'm planning a homebirth, maybe a waterbirth if I feel like it, in my very own house! : With a midwife who isn't afraid of breech babies. I want my DS to be there, too.

We are planning a homebirth.

We're planning a homebirth with a hands off midwife. We also will be moving in a few months - this summer - but I don't know where to. I should find out the general area in another two weeks and a more definate area over the next couple months.
If we have to move out of state, I hope to find a homebirth midwife as great as the one I have now.

My first birth was a hospital birth with a CNM. The hospital and nurses were absolutely awful and the CNM wasn't a whole lot better. So I will not go near a hospital unless absolutely medically necessary because of my horrid experience.

We are planning a homebirth. We have an appointment next week to meet the midwives and learn about their practice. Can't wait!!!!

another very low tech home/water birth. with my son we didn't do an ultrasound, and i am hoping once i get all straightened out and calmed down with my low hcg and progesterone levels that i can relax and go very low tech again. i do not thrive in the world of tests and worries!!!!!!!!!

hopefully if this pg. goes well a homebirth (possibly water) in our own home with a midwife attending. this will be our 1st. we will probably have dh's ds' mommies attend and co-coach (as we did for ds' birth).

We're planning our first homebirth with one of the midwifes who delivered ds, not the main one unfortunately. I can't wait to see her.

Right now, my thoughts are leaning towards 85% homebirth, 12% birth center, and 3% hospital. DD was born in a hospital but even w/ her, we were "homebirth wannabes" so we're avoiding the hospital this time.

Definitely a homebirth like last time, and I really want it to be in water. I'm investigating my options for that.

I'd love to have the midwife who attended ds's birth, but we moved. I hope I get one as easy-going and mostly hands-off as she was. (I have to wait till March to meet my new one.) Last time was really nice, just me, dh and the primary midwife until I started pushing and then the back-up one arrived. This time, my mom will be here to look after ds. She's VERY nervous about that, but I think the fact that the first time went so well is reassuring to her.

This will (hopefully) be our second homebirth with the same two mw who were there when Dd was born. We haven't yet decided if we want Dd to be there or not.

Planning on a natural birth in a hospital. After all the issues we've had just getting pregnant, dh would be more comfortable being at the hospital just in case anything goes wrong. If we're at home and need to be transferred, there's a chance we'd be transferred to the hospital that misdiagnosed my ruptured ectopic pregnancy as a UTI. Not dealing with them again ever! I don't want drugs, want to wait until the cord stops pulsating before I cut it (dh doesn't want to do it cause he has issues with cutting something connected to me). Hopefully I can have a doula, but money and availability (we live in an area that isn't super into natural birthing) will decide that.

So far we are planning a hospital birth with a midwife and doula and a tub. My first birth was a planned homebirth with midwife, doula, and a tub (love the tub) that ended in transfer and a c-sec for a mentum posterior baby. Im entertaining a homebirth again - but not decided.
