Hi,
I had a deep cleaning of my gums for periodontal disease yesterday. They were going to put Arestin in a couple of the deep gum pockets, but when they were showing me the video for it, it said not to give to patients who are nursing (good thing they showed me the video. They knew I was nursing, so I assumed they knew what was safe). Anyhow, the dentist expressed concern that "the gum wasn't going to heal on its own without the antibiotic". She seemed pretty concerned about the bone loss, and said that we would do it when I was done nursing.
So....I was wondering if there were any nursing-safe things I could do to help the gum heal without the antibiotic. If any of you know, other than the obvious flossing and brushing, I'd be grateful to hear about them.
Thanks!
