Dh and I signed our FHA refi today and it will be funded by the 4th! It came at a great time for us. Our first payment isn't due until April first and although we are going to keep making our origional mortgage payment of $1030 (to pay down some principle) our new payment is only $960. Through an appraisal we also found out our house has increased $20,000 in value since we bought it in aug of 06 do to all of the improvements we've made. We rolled an entire credit card ($8300) into our new mortgage and still have plenty of equity in our house. Now the money that was going to that card payment can also go on the mortgage if we so choose!
We also got back much more than expected on tax returns and used 3 of the 6 thousand to pay off another credit card balance. The other 3 is funding savings, savings for our kiddos, and spaying our dog.
In addition to that countrywide will be writing us a check for $580 within 30 days of close for overpayment in bi-yearly taxes. That money will be paying off the entire balance of rainy day credit card with money left over for savings.
Things were looking so grim just two months ago. We had a no spend Christmas and weren't even able to buy groceries for 3 months straight. Dh had to leave his old job do to pay cuts and went in to sales. We've been trying to catch up for the past year. Sales were great until mid October then winter hit us hard. We weren't sure how we were going to make it until March when sales were back up out of a slump. All of these things just found their way to us through some means... positive thoughts, prayers, and the law of attraction. It really is amazing and I just wanted to share a positive story for those who aren't quite sure how they will get by. Good things can happen!
