Need beginner free hat pattern

I want to learn to knit in the round. I have never done it before. I'm a novice knitter.
Does anyone have a link to a free kids hat pattern that knits in the round and on 3 needles so I can give it a try?

I knit this hat, but instead of switching to dpn did the magic loop instead. Search youtube for an example.

The only thing with this pattern is it says to swatch your yarn, and figure out stitches per inch and then multiply that by the head circumference.

Well, I swatched and it was 5 stitches per inch, and the head circ was 21 inches. Well, That would have been 105 stitches. That seemed way too big for me, so I did 72 like the pattern said for her 21 inch head, and it was perfect.
