Knitted pouch pattern wanted

I'd like to knit a pouch for wearing my toddler. Does anyone have a pattern? I've seen Jan Andreas' crochet pattern, but I have no idea how to crochet.

I was thinking that a stockinette stitch would hold up well and not stretch out too much. I could also knit it big and felt it down. Any ideas?

Are you looking for something free? The winter IK had an ad for a pattern of a knitted pouch - I'll find it for you in a bit and see if there is a website for a pattern to buy.

The next issue of Living Crafts will have the pattern for the Whole Heart Baby Sling (which is also on the alchemy site and in one of the shibori books) Based on my experience of a 28lb baby in a fleece pouch, though, I'm gently, nurturingly and nourishingly telling you to think very hard about whether this is actually a good idea.
There's also one in Folk Style, but that's crochet.

the only way I'd do a knitted pouch was to either felt it after knitting, or work it in an insanely dense pattern stitch, on much smaller than normal needles for the particular yarn I was using. There's no way I'd do it in stockinette - you'll wind up with baby down to your knees in no time flat from the stretch

The one in Folk Style is done in cotton (yikes) and on size 7 needles (knitted). It's gorgeous, but more of a wrap/blanket than a pouch for slingin'. In each of the three pics, model is holding toddler's bum for support.

I agree with Teresa. If it's not heavy-duty and felted, it's gonna be a knee-length drape before you know it...

Can someone post a link to the crochet pattern?
