book recs for self esteem/confidence

Can someone please recommend a book for increasing my 8 y/o dd's self esteem/confidence. I feel I have done my best in raising her to be proud of herself and she has many things to be proud of but she doesn't see it that way. She says she hates herself, that there is nothing good about her. She doesnt feel that we love her etc. She is extremely quiet at school, doesn't interact with other kids and I feel it is because she lacks confidence.

Any books that I could read or possibly books for her would be great.

TIA

"The Optimistic Child" -

"Your Child's Strengths: Discover Them, Develop Them, Use Them"

Both of these books are good on their own, but together, they are really great. My suggestion would be to read the Optimistic Child first, and then read Your Child's Strength afterwards.

OP, have you considered she may be depressed? Just a thought.

PP those books look good!
