Well I already told DH the baby is a boy-I'm pretty convinced. I felt the exact way with DD, I didn't need to know because I already did. With DD she even told us what she wanted her name to be and I was not that far along. I got a book from one of my clients at the time and in it was the name Nora-I told DH and it was the first name we ever chose. I really believe she told us that was supposed to be her name, but I am really quirky and spiritual like that.

That dream my MIL had-wow, I still can't believe the detail and she kept telling everyone who came in the house how real it was. It was like sitting on pins and needles.

(note the word "unnecessary"...of course sometimes a midwife or ob has good reason to order one and it could perhaps outweigh the risks)
This is me too, exactly. In fact I was going to write these exact words, but you did it for me!

I didn't want to know at all with DS, but I am totally tempted to find out this time. However, I'm probably not even going to get an U/S, so that kind of makes the decision for us.
I really hope it is a boy for logistics sake (I've already got the clothes, I want my DS to have a brother right his age, etc.) but on the other hand, if I found out I was having a girl, I could spend all the money we don't have on all the clothes I constantly drool over.

I put other. We probably will find out, because my husband wants to know, but I'm going to make him read a bunch of stuff about ultrasounds before I'll get it done, so maybe he'll change his mind. We were trying for a girl this time, and he's afraid that if we wait until birth and it's a boy, he might have trouble adjusting and bonding - he wants the extra time before the baby is born to get things straight in his mind. (Of course, the ultrasound could be wrong, then he'd be thrown for a loop!) Heh. Anyway, even if we do get it done, we're waiting until about 34 weeks or so, to minimize any risks that might exist.

I live in a small town and they don't tell you here - even if you ask. They just show you "between the legs" on the US and make no comment. I think it's 'cos they have been wrong before. It's so frustrating because I wanted to know with DD and I think I'd like to know this time too but unless I can figure out the darn US it will be a surprise!

DH and i are both pretty impatient people, and there is no way i could wait to find out. seriously. i'm going to get it done as early as possible. i *feel* very strongly that it's a girl, but maybe it's because i've always imagined myself having a girl??? i can't even imagine myself having a boy, to be honest.

We found out with ds, this time around we want to wait. We aren't sharing names either. We are being stinkers, as my Mom says
