Thumbs Up for Business of Being Born!!

I have been wanting to do a Homebirth with our baby (when I ever get pregnant! Lol) but DH has been very worried about doing it. Not that he doesnt believe it was the best thing to do but he was just nervous about something going wrong or something. Well I finally got the Business of Being born and he agreed to watch it and the whole movie he was sitting there going Wow, are you serious? The best part was where they were talking about vaccum extraction and he was like, whats that mean? I told him its where the baby is stuck and they take a suction and kinda pull the baby out. He wrinkled up his face and goes, OUCH! Lol. . . . . . . GOOD NEWS IS- He agreed that he would be ok with a Homebirth now!! YAY! Im so excited. Now I just gotta get "knocked up":
Anyways, just wanted to give a thumbs up for the movie and encourage any mamas that are having problems getting DH convinced to home birth, GET THEM TO WATCH THIS.

That is great! I sat down DH to watch it, and it was great as a conversation starter, but the movie didn't actually convince him. Once we talked about it more, we both thought the movie could have done a much better job at talking about homebirth and less about Ricki and Abby. They were both a little obnoxious for our tastes...

My partner was no on board for a homebirth either until watching this movie. I had a Business of Being Born Party here for younger people (20's) who may have kids...... and I think a lot of them got their eyes opened to really how it is and possibly changed their views.

AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!

You should check out pregnant in america too ! It had a few things I didn't know as much as i've researched. You can watch it here but half way through it stops. Wait a hour , refresh the page & fast forward where it left off. http://www.megavideo.com/?v=QTRRAG2A

This movie also helped to convince my DH.

I totally agree that this is a great movie - it gave me the push to research more on HB & led me to my decision to HB. Im actually going to show it to my family (mom & PIL) to help educate them.

My dh was already "on board" as I've had two homebirths already but we watched it together and he was really impressed. Most people in our social circle have had homebirths so he didn't realize what a small percentage we were a part of... he said he was "proud"
