Weekly chat thread January 31st-Feb 6th - Page 8

I'm doing a little better today than yesterday. I feel as though I am on an emotional roller coaster. I can't really say I am at peace in the wait for this baby. It's alot of ups and downs waiting and wondering when the time will be. I am so frustrated with my hands that it's extremely difficult to get past it. I hope I go into labor before Friday. We shall see.

tak, I feel more at peace today, too. I hope it lasts!

I wish I felt more at peace, but this morning I am cranky. Another sleepless night. I am so tired... I feel like crying. I'm such a baby!

Dd seems to have woken up cranky too. Great.

I woke up in a better mood today (not so much mean mama cat needing to hide under the stairs to have a litter ) but am very tired. My stomach was/is not happy (again) and I slept funky so my shoulders are all achy.

Hopefully today will be the day. It's flurrying outside and just gorgeous. Freezing but gorgeous.

I'm having a hospital birth, but what I did was just make a list and tape it to the mostly empty bag. My thought is that Huz can use the list to pack it for me...I already interrogated him re. whether he could find the camera charger and red robe on his own. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm exhausted. Pooped. And it's making my short-tempered and grumpy. Still having ctx all the time, and it's getting OLD! A couple people have told me not to worry, that each ctx now is one less when in labor. At this point, I should have about 2 real ctxs and the baby will fall out! ugh.

People told me this with my first son too, and what a load of rubbish it was!!! Seriously, I had about five weeks of prodromal labor and I kept thinking how I would have this super fast, easy labor due to all that pre-labor work, but then my "real" labor was STILL 31 very intense, very difficult hours! Arrgh!

Sometimes these contractions ARE very useful and get some of the work done ahead of time. However, sometimes they are sign that you are too dehydrated, too stressed, not getting enough rest, or that the baby is not in an optimal position. Not to be a downer, but just to be realistic. But if your baby is in an optimal position and you are taking good care of yourself, then yes, they are probably getting some good work done! That's what I'm hoping for!

I'm having some good, strong, and regular contractions today . . . but I am not getting my hopes up. They'll probably go away just like all the others have!

today's the first day in a while that i haven't had contractions....nice break.

Is this a transfer back for just in case.
Shampoo and Conditioner, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Undies, Socks, change of clothes, everything to bring baby home in. Blankets for baby. Pretty much everything you would bring if you were having a hospital birth.

This is a good list IMO.

Ship some of that peace my way. I'm so tired and stressed and on edge. I have a midwife appt today, and I was an idiot and didn't make plans for someone to watch my kids. So here I am 4 hours from my appt and praying my FIL can come over.

Today is off to a better start, thankfully!

I still think I'd rather climb in a hole and ignore everyone until this baby arrives.

Well, I'm tired here...

I've been having regular mild nonprogressing contrax since last evening. Didn't sleep very well. Hard to say what that means... I see the midwife today at eleven. Forty weeks Friday!

I still have a terrible cold, it's a little better today, but I'm trying real hard to take it easy and not freak out if I do start real labor with a cold - it's just one of those darn things I didn't imagine but I guess I will have to deal with if it happens.

I'm going to ask my mom to come help me clean house today. I've been sick and taking it easy and now with these contrax I'm feeling anxious about the mess but too pooped to take it on alone.

JesiLynne can you bring your kids? I have brought mine to quite a few mw appointments. She's got toys and stuff there. Of course, you might not want them there if you are planning an internal exam or something...

No offense to LTB, but I'll stick with this interpretation of prodromal, since last time it was hours and hours of very painful labor to get to 2cm dilated. And I'm already past that. So I'm looking at it that no matter how frustrating the prelabor stuff is, it's still helping.

My contractions are starting to hurt a little and are about 5-7 minutes apart. I sure hope that this goes somewhere. It's such a disappointment when they go away!

Larissa, I can't remember, are you having a homebirth? If you are, maybe do a belly lift! That's what I've started doing every time I have a really good contraction. Hasn't put me into real labor yet, but you never know!
Hospital birth for me. I might try the belly lift. I do not have fast labors at all. My labors tend to be very long and drawn out. My last labor ended in Csection. So, we are being more cautious this time around.

I could, but I have 5. One is deaf, 2 are two year old twins and one is sooooooooooo curious she drives even saints to swear. I wouldn't do that to my poor MW. She barely got through my home visit unscathed. My FIL is coming over so it's all good.
