I did a search in Ravelry and came up with no free patterns. I would think that a knit robe would be extremely heavy...

How about a spin-off on those blanket robes they've been selling on TV? Knit a big blanket, with a "head hole" in the middle, and attach i-cords on the sides to tie for sleeves. But, I also agree with the previous poster, it would be really heavy.
