February IUI - Page 3

Blueeyez - thats awesome! Congrats!

eternalsunshine - have you considered doing vaginal estrogen? That usually helped when I had lining issues.

I went in for a follie scan Friday and at this time we have two follies, one on each ovary, both an 11. So I go again on Monday to see what when we will do the IUI. I am on gonal f 112u a day.

Oh Blue! Congratulations.
I am so excited for you!!!

AFM: I get the test tomorrow. The ones I have taken at home are negative so I do not think this is my month. But I wont count myself out until AF shows or the Beta comes back.....

happily- Sounds good!

Laci- Good luck!

AFM- CD1. This sucks. We meet with our doc on thursday. Most likely we are just doing a natural IUI this month.

Hi all
So I had my beta, was waiting for a call back when AF arrived
So I am back at CD 1. I'm okay. What r the chances of it working the first time anyway?
blueyezz4 - That's awesome!!! : Congratulations!!! : I hope this is the beginning of a healthy, happy nine months for you! And I hope you're not still feeling "funny" and "weird." This is your time, enjoy every second!

by-the-lake - u/s results?

nummies & Laci - Sorry you're back to cd1. Take care of yourselves.

AFM - Busy weekend but I'm back now. I take my last clomid tonight - what a difference the lower dose makes! I am crampy in my abdomen but nothing close to what happened w/the higher dose. Really hoping it's working. U/S on Thursday.

Eternal - what happened with the higher doses of clomid?

I need to decide what to do for our second cycle. The Dr. wants me to do 5 days of clomid and 3 days of injectables. When I spoke with the nurse about how I felt on clomid she recommended I only do injectables. I don't know if it was the clomid or the other hormones (progesterone and estrogen) but I was VERY irritable. Not just moody but I got the urge to want to hit people. Do injectables work better than clomid. Any advice?

Becky-I have never tried clomid but have done a round of injectables with little side effects. I have heard bad things about clomid and my MIL stated that it made her violent. (second wife to DH's dad-she has a 12 y/o)

Laci--sorry about AF, darn it. Did you trigger this cycle? If you did what time did you trigger? Do you have to go back in at cd3. I done this a few times with them already.

WTG- Yeah I have to go back on wednesday for my baseline and u/s. I think that I ovulated at 6 pm and my IUI was done at 10 am. I think it took me 36 hrs after the trigger. So I will talk to them about maybe doing 2 IUI's or doing one 36 hrs after my trigger. Today I am grateful for my son, happy for Blue for her first(enjoy it Blue) anfd preparing myself for more shots!. I am staying positive and we have decided that we will try IUI at least 3-4 more times and I am okay with that. I think my expectations are more realistic now. I am ready for IUI #2!!!!

Nummies & By-the-lake--R U my new cycle buddies? Blue has moved on to greener pastures! LOL

So happy for you Blue. You got your Valentines day present early!

WTG: When is the surgery??

Yeah By the lake!!!!! No more cysts!!

Eternal, what is your plan, less clomid??
Surgery is on Friday the 13th, this month. Good thing I am not into superstitions!! I have to go tomorrow for pre-op testing. I just got a call from the hospital asking for preliminary data. I am started to get nervous about all of this. I really want this done but enxiety setting in.
WTG-Can't they give you a valium or a xanax to help with the anxiety??
wtg- I am thinking about you.

Laci- Looks like we are cycle buddies again!

bythelake- That is soooo awesome!!! YAY!!! Good news! You are cycle buddies with Laci and I! I hope this is it for all of us!

WTG--best wishes for Friday. I hope you have a speedy recovery, too.

Laci--I'm so sorry. I'm glad you are staying positive. It can be hard!

by-the-lake--great news about the cyst being gone and the sperm looking good!

Becky--I hope you find a good solution, maybe knowing the side effects you have with clomid they will just give you injectibles.

eternalsunshine--I'm glad the lower dose is working better for you. Hope you see some nice follicles at your U/S appt.

AFM, nothing new. Just in the 2ww and at the moment feeling quite good. I know by next week I'll be going a little crazy. I plan to test on the 20th.

It looks like I'm joining you. We were scheduled for ivf, but understimmed so now it's an iui. So, this would be my first, please spam me with info. Particularily, I'm interested in what success rates for the procedure and how many follicles are considered normal, dangerous, cancellation level.

You can add me to "waiting to know" as I'm set to trigger tonight. TIA!

Does this schedule make sense? HCG trigger tonight btwn 8-10pm, dtd tomorrow (what time??) then iui on the 12th in the am. I'm just worried about dtd so close to iui, perhaps 12 hours apart. Dh has normal numbers, not super, not bad. What do you think? Maybe we should dtd in the am on the 11th?

Who knew getting knocked up was so difficult.

by-the-lake - I'm jumping for joy w/you! :: Glad you're back on track. How many vials do you think you'll use?

wtg4miracle - Good luck w/everything. I second the idea to get some xanax for before the surgery, especially to help you relax so you can sleep at night. Keep us updated on your progress.

Laci - Yeah, I'm taking 25mg this cycle.

Becky8824 - On 50mg of clomid I had 6 mature follicles and many smaller ones. I ended up w/fluid in my abdomen after I triggered and could barely get out of bed for a few days. Not fun.

Julia'sMom - Sorry you understimmed, but the last two people here who had their IVF cycle converted to an IUI ended up pregnant. Hope you continue the trend! Every clinic has different success rates - you should ask your RE for his/her rate. As far as number of follicles, that depends on your history. I had six follicles w/clomid, did the IUI and ended up w/BFN (we are dealing w/MF). Others will have their IUI cancelled w/3 or 4 follicles. If you're already triggering tonight I'd assume you have a good number of follicles and it won't be cancelled. Good luck!

[QUOTE=eternalsunshine;13165797]by-the-lake - I'm jumping for joy w/you! :: Glad you're back on track. How many vials do you think you'll use?QUOTE]

Thanks for asking. I just posted that same question in queer parenting. So I will ask here. My 2 vials from the same donor have 20 million each, with a 25% motility. My doc says this is a good motility (post-thaw) for a frozen sample. So, should I use the 2 for a 40 million count? The nurse says thier successes from this sperm bank were all 25% motility (standard) with over 10 million count (minimum), with one vial. What to do. Keep in mind if this does not work, I will be buying and shipping more sperm, to the tune of $850 (including the 2 samples and shipping)

Juliasmom-The timing looks perfect (36h after trigger) Yes, the last 2 IUI converts had BFP's. So, don't good things come in threes.............?

Nummies- It will be great to have not one, but two cycle buddies. Had I just mentioned good things come in threes

Needle- Keep sane!

bythelake- Hmm...not sure about the vials. Interesting. Hope you get it figured out!

Julia'smom- Welcome! Best wishes with your IUI cycle!
