sense of smell

Anyone else notice their sense of smell getting stronger already? I had this problem with both of my other pregnancies, especially my first one. Yesterday my son fixed him some bacon and I almost had to go outside in order to breathe. It was disgusting. And my DD wanted pizza today and I couldn't make it or get it out of the oven after it cooked, ugh. I didn't think this hit so early. I hope it's shortlived.

YES-I got out of my car yesterday and this guy was smoking across the street. I thought I was gonna puke, I feel queasy this time.

Yes smells are already bothering me too!

I have the super Spidey sense, but luckily it hasn't been so bad for me yet. my smelling is definitely more acute, but it hasn't turned against me yet. It just seems to heighten things.

oh yeah, I forgot about that. At the grocery store yesterday I smelled smoke on someone who must have been on the same aisle as us or one aisle over. usually that would not bother me.

Yup. It's not so much fun at this point.

I noticed this yesterday in the grocery store. I walked by a man with very stinky cologne and kind of gagged a little. Then I noticed we had missed something back near where he was standing, so I made DH go get it 'cause I just couldn't handle getting another whiff!

Not noticing it yet but I'm only like 3 weeks along. Gotta love supersonic doggy nose! It saved me, I spotted a teeny tiny gas leak in my old apt because of it. The gas guy was shocked I could tell it was so low an amount!

So this morning, DH was making eggs in the kitchen. I was still trying to rest a little, and then the heater came on. I smelled the eggs through the vent. "yummy" lol.

People smoking, diesel, and gas smells all make me extremely nauseous.

Yup. DH told me I was pregnant when I smelled fish. I can't stand fish smell when pg.

Same here! But, then I usually get an enhanced sense of smell in my luteal phase anyway.... it's just stayed with me this time! For me, it's the cats' litter box, cigarette smoke and urine (yes, with DH and DS I get plenty of the boys "marking their territory" and whatever makes their urine smell potent is really offensive to me right now). BUT, this is nowhere near as bad as I remember it being with DS. Then I couldn't be within a block of garlic or onion anything - I also couldn't handle scented soap, shampoo, or deodorant, which made showertime oh so fun.

Oh yes, it's here in full force! DP noted it yesterday and said that my hounddog-like sense of smell was in action so there's no doubt I'm PG. That's what proves it to DP, not the missed period and constant queasiness.

I can't handle the smell of onions or garlic at all right now and Cheez Its. bllaaahh! I can't wait until this phase is over. 6 more weeks, 6 more weeks! I'm just going to keep repeating that to myself.

With DSs pregnancy I couldn't stand the smell of leather. I couldn't touch leather shoes or belts or anything. I ride horses and I had to have other people saddle my horse so I didn't have to touch it and then ride with gloves out doors and not look down. It was strange. I've still got an awful cold, so I'm not sure if this one is going to affect me again. I hope not. It was oddly inconvenient.

I already had a pretty strong sense of smell so this has not been pleasant. I never liked coffee anyway, not even the smell. At work my cube in on the highway to the lounge of the coffee font so it is difficult to avoid.

I want a different superpower please.

I didn't think I was going to get this, but the last two restaurants I've been to, I couldn't drink the water. It smelled skunky. :P I've never noticed that before, maybe I should start getting lemon in mine.
