I never think they are worth it, personally. I always keep old phones to use just in case. I broke my phone this fall and it would have been cheaper for me to pay out of pocket to fix it than to pay insurance on it.

I wouldn't get it, I have a cheaper phone and would be willing to go with the very bottom, basic cheapest phone if mine were to break, I also have my old phone as a backup, it only works on speaker (dropped in toilet, after having it 3 plus years). We don't have a land line so my cell is it.

No Way!

No way would we ever pay $70 a year for insurance on one of our phones. All of our phones have been $30 pay-as-you-go jobs. The most recent phone was supposedly $150, but there was a $120 web only "discount." It's been my experience that cell phone providers have lots of economical options... you can't make calls if you don't have a phone and they know it. The insurance is just a cash cow for them.
