mauritius?

hi ladies (and maybe gents)

my dh is from mauritius and i dont think that is technically africa (maybe in that is belongs to the continent of africa). but anyway, i just wondered if there was anyone over here that ever has lived or spent time there. its such a remote place that i have a hard time learning about cultures and so forth...recipes....language.

his family still lives there and i have never met them as no one could afford the trip for our wedding or dd's birth....

I won't be much help but just wanted to let you know that a guy I served with in the Peace Corps spent some time in Reunion and loved it. I would imagine it's not much different than Mauritius... Those islands are much wealthier then the one we served on and have a much larger expat community. I just remember him talking mostly about how beautiful it was.
