Is that how soy works? It seems like people use soy when they need more estrogen?

Anybody know the difference?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question but I just did a search for "soy isoflavones" on the forums and there appears to be some discussions around them.

I think I might be out.

I'm holding off on any official pronouncement, because I am only 10 DPO, but I started spotting tonight.

It's possible that I didn't actually O this cycle - I had three different patches of fertile signs, and two positive OPKs a week apart. None of this bodes well, but I'm mentally preparing to move on to my next cycle tomorrow.

Sorry to hear of your BFN, Kat. The first time is so hard, especially when you've been getting ready to try for so long.

Still spotting, barely even spotting, tiny little blobs of brown, and still not bleeding.

I didn't test today, if I stop spotting I'll get excited about it, right now, I'm just resigned to it.

Papa, hmm, good on you to wait until af starts fully before giving up hope. I hope the spotting is just a wonderful symptom of early pregnancy!

I'm at 8dpo today. I had lots of cramping on 6dpo and mild cramping for the past 2 days. This type and severity of cramping this early pre-af is not usual at all for me. However, I'm not jumping to the "I must be pregnant!" thoughts. I will test on Wednesday, 10dpo, and see what happens. Maybe I'll test tomorrow at 9dpo just as a warm up. You know, to practice!

Well, I'd say that it can't be a BAD sign if AF isn't here just yet. Right now it's just a something. A something that sadly tells us nothing. Isn't that was all the symptoms in the 2WW do??? Do you have any plans to test again if full-blow AF doesn't show?

When I got pregnant with E, it was before I had discovered message boards and I waited until cycle day 28 to test. And I didn't even worry about it. How crazy is that?? With Noelle, I tested at 9DPO and got a negative, and then tested at 11 (or maybe 12?) and got a positive. So this time I'm going to wait until at least 10DPO to see, even though I have 4 pregnancy tests waiting in the wings.

As for me, I had crazy heartburn last night. Not something usual for me at all, but it could just have been the shepherd's pie we ate for supper. Another something that could mean anything and nothing. Sigh.

Still!!! waiting to O here. This is going to be another LONG cycle. Yay.
Starting the vitex again soon. I hate having weird cycles.
I'm on the exact same schedule as you Carmen. : FF thinks I O'd last Sunday. Let's hope it was really late that day since the IUI was Monday morning

We'll see how long I can go without testing.. I'm trying to hold out so I don't loose hope with false negatives *cross fingers*
post #169 of 282
lemurmommies, I think if I hadn't read so much on 'symptoms' online that I likely wouldn't even think about it either. *sigh* but it's so FUN to obsess!

Hang in there, ellephant....waiting to O can be very tedious...do you just normally have long cycles?

Yay, pookafaye! I was planning on testing on Wednesday, 10dpo, but if I feel like it tomorrow morning, I may end up testing at 9dpo. Seeing early BFNs don't bother me as much as seeing later BFNs....

I'll be keeping an eye on you - if you see a BFP I don't think I'll be able to resist testing - lol

Good luck!

papa - still holding out hope for you. keep us posted!

lemurmommies - everything and nothing - that is so right on. The only thing that really means anything is a second line. Still never stops me from driving myself crazy with every little thing. I've convinced myself that breathing is a symptom.

As far as testing for our KD - what "must" get done. We were planning on across the board STD testing - but not anything else. Keeping in mind that he doesn't have insurance and we have VERY limited funds - is there anything that we just have to get tested before moving forward? STD testing should be free at the local clinics near the colleges - but anything else would likely be out of pocket for us.

I'd say that's it. Other tests you get done are mostly for peace of mind. The sperm banks don't test donors quite as extensively as people generally believe.

Have you been tested for the big recessive disorders? I.e. Tay-Sachs, cystic fibrosis? If there's something in that veing that you're worried about, you could get tested, since they're recessive, he wouldn't need to be.

AFM - I'm not actually full-on bleeding, just yet, but it's picking up. I think this was an anovulatory cycle, because it was so long, with so many inconclusive cues. I am nauseous and crampy and tired.
9dpo = BFN this morning. Not surprising! Will try again tomorrow...

pf, yeah, I think complete std testing is probably ok. We didn't get our KD to do any genetic disorder testing, etc. Depending on what your blood type is, you may want to know his blood type too. I think if you're - ? I'm A+ so it didn't matter what KD was. Also, depending on how rigorous you want to be with HIV testing, I believe you have to do 2 tests over time to 100% rule it out. I'm sure the clinic will be able to tell him the procedure. Good luck!

papa, have you had an anovulatory cycle before?
We had our KD do HIV and complete STD testing, but not genetic testing. He had testing before we TTC E, and again before we TTC Noelle. We didn't ask him to do testing again this time because it hadn't been that long since our last attempt and he is in a monogamous relationship.

I'm here at 5/6 DPO. Had heartburn again last night, but that could easily be attributed to the huge amounts of tex-mex I consumed last night at supper. Man, are fajitas ever good!! Today I am really unnaturally tired and of course E is refusing a nap. Good times. Perhaps I'll try and just close my eyes here on the couch while he plays...

Yeah. I've had a few 50 day cycles where I don't think Oed. I don't know this cycle. If I Oed the second time, I might have had a 13 or 14 day LP, but fertility friend says 12, based only on the one OPK I did the second round.

This one was a 43 day cycle

I'm out. Heavy bleeding started this morning, I'm calling it CD 1. On to try # 6. I have CD 3 bloodwork to do on Thursday.

Carmen - 9 DPO is way too early! Keep testing!

Someone, get a BFP this month, please!
So, I think I missed the boat this month.
My cervix was so low and soft yesterday but I had no EWCM and today it is higher and harder.

This sucks.

I'm sorry Elle.

As for me, had heartburn again last night. That's three nights in a row. More of everything and nothing... and Sunday is seeming further and further away instead of closer and closer! Although it's not really that long now in the grand scheme of things now, is it?
Sorry, papa and ellephant

Papa, hopefully some tests or different methods of monitoring can help you figure out what's going on for next cycle.....good luck!

Yay for heartburn, lemur!

Afm, I'm sitting here staring at a BFN on 10dpo and trying to will it into a BFP. It's not working. No hint of a second line unfortunately. I usually have a lp of 12 days so I would expect to see a faint line if I were pregnant....I will test again tomorrow but I'm not hopeful. Will report back.

You may have said already, but how are tracking for O? Do you think you didn't O or that you missed it?
Im tracking via:
OPKs
CM
and
cervix position

I am actually getting a ton of almost fertile Cm today so hopefully that's good news!! My cervix softened back up too.

I tried temping in the past but I work weird shifts and never wake up at the same time so my charts were always crazy. I want one of those saliva microscopes. Anyone use one?
