Advice- moving to Tacoma

I am not totally unfamiliar with Tacoma by any means... but I don't really know all the neighborhoods that well. We're moving soon (we need to be in March 1st) and want to make sure we are in a neighborhood we'll love.

Where should we look? Where should we avoid? I know the North End is nice, but where else?

And if anyone happens to know of an affordable 2-3 bedroom house that takes dogs in a great neighborhood, please please let me know

Here is a current thread going on about Tacoma that might be helpful:

Also, this website has information about some of the different neighborhoods, schools, great fun ideas to do with kids and restaurant recommendations: http://www.tacomamama.com

Are you looking to buy or rent? Angie Schmidt at the Gig Harbor Coldwell Banker may be able to help you find something. She was raised in the North End and knows the area well.

We have lived here all of our lives and love what Tacoma has to offer to families. The North End is great, but so is UP, Fircrest, West End and the North Slope area.

Best of luck and welcome to T-Town,

Lisa

Great to hear! I had a wonderful walk this past week around the North Slope. Love looking at all of the old houses.
