The temp today is flirting with freezing so it feels warm enough to wear t-shirts! Actually, after church this morning no one put on their coats. Funny how relative comfort can be... 32 degrees is suddenly balmy spring weather worthy of rolling up your sleeves and taking in the sun!
oh please do share the Irish blessing! with translations and/or pronunciation guide if you please

as for relative temps-- when i lived in Syracuse people were out in shorts, playing frisbee with their bandanna'd dogs at 40*. don't you live in Ithaca, Clay? obviously you totally understand

Heather I'm sorry mama.

I can't believe it's February and I'm soooo glad! It's been a long winter and we're really looking forward to Spring.

Heather -

Our temps here are hot again. : It's been more hot than not this winter and it's just not fair. I'm not ready to move anywhere that there is actual SNOW or thunderstorms or tornados or, you know, weather. But just a little bit. Maybe staying in the 50's from October to March? So I can wear sweaters and Uggs? Is that so much to ask?

Um, anyhow. Hi! Subbing!

Happy Imbolc! :

I'm too tired to think straight so I'll be back later.

Happy February and Imbloc, sisters!

I was able to get the house all cleaned (and boy did it need it) yesterday. We also visited the ocean this weekend so although my imbolc plans changed a little, I still felt like I celebrated it in a special way. I'm smudging tonight because I totally forgot to after I cleaned yesterday!

I've also been thinking more and more about my path and have noticed that I feel more connected to the equixnox's and solstices and tend to really celebrate those in a special way more so than the other sabbats. I still don't feel completely comfortable with my path but I think so much of that has to do with just trusting my own instinct and only having myself to say, "yea, you're doing it right." I need to stop worrying about doing everything "right".

Peace (and others I might have missed), welcome to this lovely, amazingly, beautiful circle. I hope you enjoy it and treasure it as much as I do.

Heather, I'll also light you a candle tonight. I'm so sorry, sister. I hope your taking care of yourself right now and are surrounded by people who love and can support you. Big .

Heather - I'm so very sorry

It's -2C here (28F I believe?) and sunny, a rare combination - positively balmy these days. I added some pics to my blog last night, one shows how much snow was sitting on our deck. DH had to clear a path to the barbecue.

I need to do more research on the sabbats, but I've always been fascinated with the exquinoxes and solstices since I learned of them as a child. They will definitely always be most significant to me.

Maybe I'll try what someone mentioned earlier, and give bread to the birds. There were a bunch of (I believe) Blu Jays sitting on the wire in the back yard yesterday, I'm sure DS would enjoy watching them I might also light a candle to try to cleanse the air and settle my spirits. I'm finding myself getting more and more upset at the prospect of sending DS to daycare next month, it's really weighing on me He's still nursing several times a day and needs lots of cuddles to go down for a naps - I have visions of him screaming and crying at daycare  I've got to think more positively!

Hang in there Heather. Be gentle.
Dear Heather, I'm thinking of you today. Gentle hugs.

We started celebrating on Saturday, will have Candlemas Pancrepes tonight, and our Brigit's feast on the 4th. I know my dates are off, but I just love this time of year and like to spread the celebration out over a series of days.

Bright blessings to you all this day!

Last year I found myself feeling like this a lot- wondering if I really was a Pagan- etc. But, I have decided- like you said above- that I need to stop worrying about if I am doing it right or the label fits and follow my heart and do what makes my spirit fly.

This is tough, Dreamy! Can you try replacing those visions with positive ones? Manifest the best outcome!

Heather

Rachel, I am the same way. I don't really follow the wheel of the year. But do find that the solstices and equinoxes are very much a part of my small bit of ritual.

Well I found you guys and only two pages in, not bad. Since I knew I was going to be working late today, I kept things pretty simple yesterday. Did some decluttering, some meditative drawing and built an impromptu healing altar and thought about all my friends online & IRL.

I have a couple pictures I took here... http://www.flickr.com/photos/myindigodreams

Don't have the whole drawing because it turned itself into a love note to DP and want to keep it under wraps until I finish it and give it to him.

Morning All!

Happy Imbolc!!!

I have no idea how I am going to celebrate. Probably just read the Imbloc story from Aisha's Moonlit Walk as I am sicker today than I was yesterday *sigh* I am debating whether or not to put my spring welcome sign up today or wait until Ostara? Its pretty wooden tulips.

to everyone who needs them.

I'm so sorry Heather

Happy Imbolc everyone

This cold has really gotten to me, all I'm doing is sleeping.

I remember someone saying it's their birthday today, but I can't recall who.
Happy Birthday to you, I hope you have a good day.

Tonight we will make pancakes for dinner, shake our priapic wands and dance around the yard to wake up nature. We'll light a candle for everyone we know who his sick or needs healing, and we'll light the fire pit again. We're also going to make our brigid's crosses tonight. We'll have our feast on the 4th.

my ds would now and then pitch the most awful fits when i left him at daycare. it would wrench my heart. the daycare lady always said go ahead and leave, he'll be fine, so i did, but i always called back 15-30m later to find out if he really was fine. every single time, he'd stopped crying within 5m of me leaving. and he was there for 3 years. HTH

edit: no, i didn't leave him there for 3 years! you know what i mean, mamas :P

Yep, its about the Decepticons seeking revenge on the Autobots. I believe Starscream is the bad guy this go around, though I could be very wrong. Otherwise I would assume it would be Galvetron (sp?) because that's who Megatron becomes.

Wow, I just realized I have turned into suck a huge Transformers geek thanks to DH. I used to make fun of him and now I am totally into it.

www.transformersmovie.com There is a pretty good quality trailer there. Its the same one shown during the Super Bowl.

Oh and to continue with my geekiness. ZOMG! Have you seen the GI Joe trailer!? www.gijoemovie.com My Mom and I used to watch this movie together right before animated X-Men was on. It was our routine every day.

We had great weather for Imbolc. Temp was about 42 degrees (that's twice as warm as it has been) and it was sunny.

Tomorrow- Back to reality. It gets colder and we are getting a snow storm. Then Wed-Fri will be bitter cold again.

LOL From what I remember (and I lived in Anchorage so there'd be difference still) You shouldn't even bother with imbolc until like april1 Stay toasty!

Sorry I'm behind this month so far! I'm having a real hard time getting it together for some reason Feeling VERY flat, I think the last 2 months is finally showing it's toll on me. It's amazing how we can keep it together in the midst of disaster isn't it? but eventually we must run out of steam. I think I need to hibernate
